What is Strut Orthotics ?

It is a unique Kitsilano-​based podiatrist-​run business that provides state of the art custom foot orthotics for people who are proactive and want to stay physically active and healthy for a lifetime.



Why Strut?

Who is Strut?

The business is owned and operated by Dr. Sue Turner, who has provided podiatric medical care to the Vancouver community since 1991. She is highly regarded as a specialist in biomechanics and provider of custom foot orthotics.



How is Strut Unique?

We take an integrated approach to diagnosis and treatment. The feet are assessed in the context of their connection to the rest of the body. A comprehensive treatment plan is given which considers knee, hip, back and gait factors.

History

Established in 1991.

Strut Orthotics is the invention of Dr. Sue Turner podiatrist.

Dr. Sue Turner started out taking care of the patients in the geriatric wing of Riverview Hospital and has been affiliated with the occupational therapy department at the Arthritis Society.

She has taught biomechanics to students at the West Coast School of Massage Therapy.

Dr. Sue Turner (aka The Singing Podiatrist) has been solving peoples foot problems in Vancouver since 1991 and has been know to break out into song while playing the ukulele in her practice.

In February of 2014 Strut Orthotics opened its doors in its current location at the Vital Health Wellness Clinic at 1855 West 4th Ave., Vancouver.

Strut Orthotics improves peoples’ lives through use of custom orthotics.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Sue Turner is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, and has been practicing podiatry (and fixing feet) in Vancouver since 1991.



Dr.Turner is a kinesiologist and specialist in treating lower extremity problems using techniques that alter the way the foot hits the ground and functions within footwear. She also has extensive experience dealing with arthritis related foot and gait problems as well as chronic pain.



Sue is highly regarded as a custom foot orthotics expert.



She believes that even small improvements in foot function can provide life altering changes in peoples’ ability to walk, run, play, dance and do whatever they really want to do in life.



Human beings are complex creatures. What is unique about Dr. Turner’s approach to making orthotics is her integrated and holistic approach to diagnosing and prescribing orthotics for lower extremity pain and problems.



Sue says, «I love people and all their foot foibles, and other foibles too. I am a sole doctor.
