Just ordered here for the first time and had the best tempura and deep fried California rolls I’ve ever eaten! The also add some kind of squid on a stick in the mixed fish tempura that’s amazing and nobody else in the area does! Will definitely be ordering again soon and telling my friends :) P. s. the food was on time and the driver was super nice.

Good service. Decent sushi if you ever have a craving. Went there for dinner. Easily get a seat. Don’t be scared by the empty restaurant. Give it a shot. They won’t bite.

There seems to be a hole in decent sushi in stretch of Kingsway. We were headed home and craving some Japanese goodness and this was the only option. We ordered a combo D(15 pieces: tuna, salmon, tamago sushi and yam roll & spicy tuna roll) and a combo E(16 pieces: 2 tuna sushi, salmon sushi, tuna maki, salmon maki). The sushi was serviceable, but if you have a choice to go somewhere else, I’d suggest going somewhere else. The rice to fish ratio was off with way too much of the densely packed rice on their rolls.

Anther restaurant near the place where i live… ive been passing here every single day going to work but i havent tried the place until the otherday… originally ill be buying a take out pizza same block but i saw the adds from the bill board saying SPECIALLUNCHPICK3ITEMSFOR $ 7.75…SO since it sounded good i went inside. Dark place with a divider on almost every table, those detachable wooden divider were decorated with plastic colorful flowers, i sat on a table near the window and door. everytable has this light inside a japanese lantern by the ceiling… looks good though… tables are clean… Service is very good and quick… The lunch special if im not mistaken starts from 12 am to 3 or 5pm… theres a lot of choices in a seperate menu… pick 3… i got the seaweed salad, the beef terriyaki and the dynamite roll… on top of this i ordered sashimi 3 slices of tuna and 3 slices of salmon… the lunch special is worth your money imagine you get 3 items for lessthan $ 8…the sashimi is morethan a dollar per slice but it was a generous size not bad at all. i love everything i ordered… the seaweed salad was so good… the beef terriyaki was good too and it comes with rice… the rolls were average… the sashimi were fresh. Parking is by the rear but i parked at the side shared parking by another restaurants… street parking is available aswell… Wifi is free which is a good thing… noise level average, good for family, group and kids… Ill visit again soon that pick 3 for lessthan $ 8 is an amazing deal ill get to try everything… Good place to eat Japanese food… i just hope they will remove those cheap dividers and cheap flowers decors… that will make the place to look big and brighter… no problem with cleanliness…

i’ve been coming here for a couple of years. Under new management six months ago. Generous portion sizes(big Maki rolls, $ 9.25 for six large pieces of wild Sockeye sashimi). Not a fancy interior but comfortable. Never very crowded.

Not bad for what it is $ 7.95 for the lunch(11am-5pm) special. Comes with 3 items + miso soup. It’s a Chinese run sushi place. No complaints for what it is. I’d come again if I was in the neighborhood.

Not the best sushi, however, it was closish to my place, therefore, wanted to give it a try. I had a basic avocado and cucumber roll to go. It was prepared decently in a timely manner. It was cheap. Seems as though I cam e in on a lucky day compared to others. As mentioned I just got a basic order.

Called for delivery. She asked if I was nearby. Even though her business is listed as for delivery on numerous sites. She then told me to hold on because she needs to ask her driver if he is available. If he is there to ask, isn’t he available? Their conversation is in Chinese, which makes me worried. She then asks me if it is OK if I pay with cash. I told her know I want to pay with Debit. She has a conversation with her manager for a while and then came back to tell me debit wasn’t OK and that only credit or cash would do. This business is shady. lots of delivery places, especially FOBby ones like to charge in cash to tip themselves and give back change based on what they«feel» is right. DONOTEATHERE. Horrible service. Let this place succumb to it’s own horribleness. Karma will lash this place into it’s own destruction.

I’m not a mean person… I swear I’m not. I’m just a typical sushi lover like all the rest of you. This means that I’d like to think I know what to expect of my food the instance I step through the door. As for this experience. Walking through the door was already quite unpleasant. It should be pointed out now that as a sushi addict in Vancouver, you come to learn that Chinese owned sushi restaurants aren’t great. The stereotype for them is smaller portions, bland tasting food, and below average service. Sushi wind hits all these stereotypes hard! My first issue is service. The waitress felt like she was annoyed the instance I walked in, despite probably being their first customer of the day for lunch at 11:40 am. I wanted to come here to try their motoyaki, but apparently it was«too early» and it wasn’t prepared yet, which is fine… So I ordered chicken karage and apparently«oil wasn’t hot yet»… Fine… But what really made me feel unappreciated as a customer is when the waitress returned and asked me «can you please eat something else, like a sushi roll or something.» I should have left then and there… But… Once again… Fine… As for the rest of my experience, California roll and salmon maki was small portioned and cut in really odd ways, seaweed was super chewy, and beef teriyaki roll… Which I felt pressured into ordering because of their $ 8 lunch combo was just plain tasteless and overcooked. Needless to say, despite them being the only sushi restaurant in the immediate neighbourhood, I would not be coming back. Dawn and Lukas’s review of this place is spot on!

Today I went to the restaurant and orderd beef short ribs. It was exceptionally delicious. It was well prepared and well seasoned. Also, I ordered the Amazing Roll along with the lemon flavour and smoke salmon. It was super tasty. I recommend ordering these foods, the next you come visit here.

Must agree with Dawn. Not good at all. I ordered take-out and like Dawn said, wasn’t done like it should be. Smoked salmon was missing on top of my roll completly. I noticed at home, so I didn’t do anything about it. Just thought I should give people little heads up here… I’m definitely not going there anymore. Peace

Sushi Wind took over Sushi Bay and I was looking forward to the new sushi joint near work. My co-workers and I always order from this place and every order had some kind of mistake. I don’t need to mention the errors, but we always gave them a chance to redeem themselves. Today was the worst experience I’ve encountered with them; they forgot to include the tuna and salmon sushi with our boxes and a full order of seafood tempura was missing. We called to inquire if they could get it remade, but the lady on the phone questioned us and refused to remake and refund our money for the missing order. She even hung up when the issue escalated. Out of frustration, I accompanied my co-worker to resolve the matter. Upon arrival to the restaurant, the lady refused to refund the money and insisted to remake the order. Due to their horrible customer service over the phone, we didn’t want the order remade. Finally, after mentioning that we have been giving them chances for every mistake they made and that we are regular customers, she refunded the money back. For all the years and restaurants that I have visited and ordered, no Japanese restaurant would fight with you from a mistake they made. They would gladly remake the order or refund the money without questions asked. I’ve had high hopes for the new management and team in Sushi Wind. However, Sushi Wind had always disappointed me and today was the last strike. Their food is mediocre to say the least. Rice is a little hard and their miso soup is quite oily. Tuna and salmon wasn’t fresh because it was gamey and slightly fishy. The only decent thing I had from there is the short rib. Unfortunately, today they lost a regular establishment that always ordered from there. Hopefully, they learn from their mistakes and ensure their orders are expedited thoroughly before handing it to the customers who order for take– out, so that their business stays afloat.

I stepped in to try the neighborhood sushi joint that has just changed management. It is very nice, with a tasty bento box at a reasonable price. Hopefully they will get more customers, because my only complaint is how quiet it was. Recommended!
