One of my worst dining experiences in Vancouver. There were flies buzzing around everywhere. The food took a long time to arrive. Service was lacking and inattentive(even though the place was rather empty). And even worse was the food… The amounts were small for the price(which wasn’t cheap), and yet the ingredients were cheap. To top it off, the server complained to us about the tip, trying to force us to pay even though we had a horrible experience.(Go anywhere but here… Both my friend and I have tried lots of Thai restaurants and this was by far the worst!)

This place is by far the best thai In kits. The panang is the BOMB, I might be addicted. I’m kinda glad it has not totally been discovered yet. Totally a gem, and the service is very friendly.

The green curry and panang curry are my favourite dishes here. They have a great combo deal for about $ 12 that includes, salad, chicken satay sticks, a spring roll, rice and your main entrée. You can upgrade to double meat for just $ 2 too! Friendly staff — although run by Chinese so don’t expect fine dining service. Chefs/kitchen staff also very friendly and remember their regulars. Also great deal for their ‘young coconut’ drink and Tiger beer! Have also tried their beef/green beans dish — tasty and great portions!

Yellow seafood curry is to die for. Delivery is always reasonable. Portions bigger than the neighbouring Thai place. No delivery fee! Eat it

This review is from a year ago, late to post. Worst customer service ever. Ordered an apply and an entrée and then order 2 entrees to go. Waitress yelled at me for tipping 10% although I was technically tipping 20% for my eat in meal and nothing for my takeout… She embarrassed me in front of a group of friends. Cannot believe I got questioned and cannot believe she did it in front of my group! I will never return, and the food wasn’t too good either.

We live close by. This is our go to place for quick and cheap take out. You get 10% off if you pick up. Don’t get to fancy though. Stick to the curry’s.

Good option for delivery. Food took about an hour but arrived piping hot and fresh. Lettuce wrap was tasty and not too greasy. Beef and green beans was good but will order more spice next time. Curry fried rice was very good with lots of lean chicken.

Ordered from this restaurant at home and found a piece of metal in our food — picture attached. The delivery lady tried to stole us an $ 8 tip(for a $ 40 order), did not wanting to give change back and refused to take a smaller tip. We definitely won’t eat their food anymore.

We’ve been here twice. Each time we visited was because the original restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. The food comes with a decent portion size at acceptable pricing. On our last visit, there was no wait for a table, but we waited forever for service and for our food. The staff was friendly even though the one waitress in the place was stretched way too thinly. I ordered the red curry with chicken. Price was right around $ 10. Rice comes at an additional charge which is the norm here, but it always annoys me. The curry was mild. It shows two«hot peppers» next to it on the menu for spiciness. It consisted of bamboo shoots, bell peppers and chicken. Tasted decent. My food came out about 8 – 9 minutes after my husbands and daughters. I was starting to think they’d forgotten my food. Food was a three star. Service dropped off a little from there. It wasn’t that the waitress was doing a bad job, but she was just too busy taking orders, waiting all the tables, answering the phone and filling water glasses. Our daughter had the chicken satay. It was a fair amount for the price. Safe bet for kids on a non-spicy diet.

Went to Thai Star for lunch on a Monday with three friends as we were chilling beforehand at Kitsilano beach and wanted somewhere cheap to eat. Found this tiny Thai place that is small but quaint. They have a special lunch menu(up till 5pm) where you can choose from 20 dishes and they all cost $ 8(including tax). All come with a spring roll and rice. Pretty good for us! We ordered: * Pad thai — good, yummy pad thai noodles — Chicken chow mein — this one is basically like chinese chow mein(not sure how it is a Thai dish as I never came across that when I was in Thailand) * Yellow curry with chicken — this one I ordered and it was good. Nice curryness(if that’s a word) and the sauce was perfect with the rice. — Chicken with chili fried rice — just tasted like typical fried rice, couldn’t taste much chili. Good place to go for a cheap lunch. Maybe take it to go and bring it down to the beach to eat while you enjoy the sand/sunshine/view. Haha.

This place was in between where a friend and I live so we met in the middle for dinner. It wasn’t awful but there are too many other options in life for me to be compelled to return. If you like good portions for decent prices you could be fine with this place. The staff are friendly and the food came out quickly. The spring rolls were oily and the food was a bit bland. There was nothing to rave about unfortunately. Like I said, it wasn’t awful but ‘Meh, I’ve experienced better’ sums it up for me.
