I am not sure why there are so many poor reviews here. Dr Chandna has been my doctor for almost 3 years after I parted ways with a terrible doctor who was not interested in human interaction at all. The problem with all doctors is that they only have so long per consult and while I would love to speak to my doctor about a whole range of issues, this is not how it works in Canada. It is not Dr Chandna’s fault. I have found her to be very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to(speak fast if you want more than one thing discussed!) but what I am more interested in is that she can do my pap and send me to specialists if needed, but yet she has this whole alternative medical vision which I happen to buy into. A great balance of alternative care and traditional medical support. I know Dr Chandna won’t try to drug me up if I ever get depressed because instead she will try to find the root cause of the problem. Can others say that about their doctor?

I found that although this doctor IS a doctor, she is promoting her real business which is alternative medicine. If you have real medical problems, go elsewhere. Especially if you don’t buy into the doctrine she is promoting.

If you want a doctor, who is going to be there for you when most needed– look for a different doctor. When I called in with my child having had a fever for a week and developing other symptoms, they thought to be generous by offering an appointment the next week!!! Also, she does not talk to her patients on the phone either, if she can’t offer an appointment in a time frame appropriate to the problem. The practice feels like a business affair with limited resources in time and commitment to the patients.

Just letting everyone know that they are no longer accepting new patients

I called first thing in the morning today to see if this practice was accepting new patients. They were accepting new patients and were also able to squeeze me in for an appointment the same day. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork. A sign at the front desk advised that they do not have a receptionist working after 2:15PM and explained what to do if you were a new patient — which was to grab a form and pen that was set next to the sign and fill it out and that the Dr would be with you shortly. The office is sort of bare, but not run down looking at all. As far as I could tell, it looked like this office had just opened. Dr Divi Chandna came out for me at 3:15, and my appointment was for 3:10 — and with my past dr’s experiences, this is very on schedule. She took me directly into her office to first get to know a little bit about me. With my situation, she didn’t need to take me into an examination room, so I wasn’t able to see how clean those were. But Dr Chandna made me feel like she really cared to help and made sure I understood what she was talking about multiple times through out our conversation. Not yet having a family doctor in Vancouver after moving here about 2 years ago, I think I can finally say I have found my family doctor. The location is easy to get to via transit(# 17 or 99UBC) and is in a nice area. I only gave 4 stars just because I didn’t need to be physically examined! So I don’t feel I can rate the office/doctor completely.
