Specialties
The French Table still carries the tradition of its former self, especially with the outstanding first class servers whom Herve Martin, chef and owner successfully carried over. With clean lines and an open room, the room is warm and inviting when you step inside. Unlike the traditional white table cloths, Herve cleverly designed its logo under the glass tables bearing The French table signature. Tables line the walls for a clear view of everything. You can select from a menu created by Master Chef Herve Martin.
Parking is available at the back of the restaurant. We also accept debit cards but not American Express.
History
Established in 2011.
Former Master Executive Chef Herve Martin of Hermitage Vancouver is proud of his newest eating establishment, The French Table, a classic French Restaurant in Vancouver. Nestled cosily in the Riley Park area on Main St & 23rd Ave, it’s a twist on the former Hermitage Restaurant which was a downtown Vancouver staple on Robson Street for 24 years until 2011. After the developer announced new plans, Herve re-located to a bustling up and coming area that’s ripe for surburban French cuisine.

Meet the Business Owner
Herve M.
Business Owner
Hervé Martin, international chef, cooking expert and restauranteur, is certainly a force to be reckoned with. His success has flowed throughout several countries and has currently landed him in Vancouver.
Herve Martin’s roots are embedded deep in the Burgundy region of France, but by the time he was 26 years old, he had already accomplished a great deal. He began at the famous Troisgros, a three Michelin star restaurant in France. He had also spent time at the Freddy Girardet in Switzerland and served as personal chef to the Belgian royal family in Brussels.
Eventually, Martin made his way to Canada. He first worked at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto before migrating to Vancouver. He opened the Five Sails at the Pan Pacific Hotel, another fine restaurant. Perhaps what Herve Martin is best known for in Vancouver is his many years as the owner/operator of The Hermitage. He ran The Hermitage successfully for over 25 years.
