Specialties
The Hackery is a computer repair and recycling center located in East Vancouver.
Macs and PCs, laptops and desktops, new and old, all are welcome here! We have a huge inventory of used parts to keep your computer running, all at prices that won’t break the bank.
Our staff have experience in soldering and component level repairs, allowing us to fix parts that the other shops would simply replace, which can save you hundreds of dollars!
We are also experienced in recovering files from damaged hard drives and USB thumb drives.
Need to read an old floppy disk? Looking for a distinctly ‘80s computer to use as a film prop? The Hackery has a wide variety of vintage computers on hand. Collectors are welcome!
And if your equipment has reached the end of its life, we are here to ensure its parts are re-used and recycled in an environmentally safe and friendly way. No matter how old or broken, you can bring your computer components to us.
History
Established in 2008.
The Hackery was founded by David Repa and Brian Dick to offer an alternative to the big name, big pricetag computer stores of Vancouver.
Our name was inspired by the ex pie factory which our store is based out of. The building has gone from housing a bakery to a hackery.
In our humble East Van workshop, we’ve worked hard to give customers hope after other stores have written off their computers. And we’re proud to say that we’ve helped to keep thousands of computers in service since 2008.
