Bitters, mixes, syrups, garnishes, bartending tools, oak barrels for aging your own spirits, glassware, vintage tools and accessories, Tiki mugs, lounge shirts, bars, high end Japanese Mixing glasses, electric ice crushers, bar fridges, absinthe tools and fountains, Moscow mule mugs, Mint Julep cups, tonic syrups and oh so much more.

History

Established in 2012.

The Modern Bartender opened in 2012 after realizing the city had nowhere to get all the tools to knock out a good cocktail.

Now we do! Within this 1,000 square foot retailer you’ll find all manner of bar tools, recipe books, glassware, syrups and hundreds of bitters. Not to mention ice molds, specialty cups (julep, moscow mule, tiki), garnish tools, imported cherries and a huge selection of herbs and spices to make your own bitters or tonics.

This place is like a bartender’s toy store, everything you could possibly imagine. Making things from classic cocktails, classy mixers, Tiki syrups, whatever you need, this is your bartender headquarters. They have all sorts of fun tools for mixing, citrus peelers, they even have a navy grog ice cone stick! This place is an oasis for bartending needs.

I’ve been here a few times now and I’ll definitely keep coming back. I’m able to find pretty much everything I’m looking for and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
The selection of bitters, tonics and syrups is impressive and they’ve got all the tools of the trade including glassware. I highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for anything cocktail related.

Truly a location with all the bitters, syrups, tonics, and bartending tools one might look for. If you want bitters but aren’t sure where to start, the staff is able to let you taste some of the bitters and steer you in the right direction. A great stop if you like to make cocktails!

This place is THE place for all your bartending needs. They don’t call it the «Imbibers Playhouse» for nothin’.
I don’t even know anything about bartending, but the Modern Bartender is probably the best place in town to get the widest variety of bitters, syrups, glassware, books, and tools. I learned a lot from just walking around. You can get an absinthe fountain, or make your own bitters, or even Uisge Source Water of Scotland for whiskey. The vintage tiki section in the back is pretty amazing too — like stepping into a museum!
I’ve been here a few times to get gifts for friends — they conveniently put together really well thought-​out gift baskets, and at good prices too.
Watch out for periodic sales and informative seminars!

This place is incredible! They have everything you could ever possibly want to start your own in-​home cocktail lounge… except for the booze. I just dropped in with a girlfriend, who picked up a couple of stocking stuffers for her husband, but didn’t buy anything for myself. I will be back though! I was very impressed by the selection of vintage glassware and kitchen gadgets they have, and reasonably priced ones at that. More syrups and bitters than you could ever know what to do with. The staff are friendly and helpful, but will leave you alone if you’re just browsing. Perfect for the cocktail lover on your Christmas list.

Great shop full of cocktail rarities. Regan’s bitters, Peychaud’s and a host of other bottles that blew my mind. Some glassware/​barware but I came for the bitters. ;-)
