It reminded me of one of those restaurants in the US… big portion and cheap. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and I got complimentary bread, salad(or soup), and dessert. I got really really full. Taste? erm… Bread –Nice and warm bread. Good. Salad — It tasted familiar. I think this salad is from Fresh Express… well. it’s complimentary… Chicken Parmigiana — Huge and very cheesy… well…not bad… The pasta that came with the chicken was far from al dante. Dessert– Tastes like ice cream from Safeway. Well it’s complimentary. It’s not so bad I guess…

Big disappointment. It wasn’t busy when we arrived here for lunch. Our server was attentive in the beginning then slowly kept avoiding us. The sourdough bread was not very sour. The whipping garlic butter, tasted nothing like garlic. The crisp geen salad was nothing special about the same salad you can get from any supermarket. My spaghetti with meatballs was the biggest pile of useless balls on pasta you can get. The meatballs were disgusting. I had one bite and I didn’t eat the rest. It wasn’t juicy or anything it just tasted like grounded up mushy random animal meat with no taste. Waste of money for paying 2 dollars extra for 3 poop balls. When I could have just gotten spaghetti with meat sauce and saved money. The ice cream at the end was horrible. It was just sugary that’s all I tasted. Maybe just maybe come back to try something else but never gonna order poopballs ever again.

AMAZINGAMOUNTOFFOODFORTHEMONEY. They have amazing service here, Whittney was great, food was amazing, our drinks were soooooo good. We paid $ 36 $ 10 of which were on alcoholic drinks and it was very well worth it. I got the spaghetti and meatballs which came with a huge thing of bread with amazing garlic butter, soup, salad, and complimentary ice cream. Such an amazing deal. All of that was included in the $ 13.99 price. Great prices for the area and the service really was top notch. I also love the atmosphere. We will be back for sure

Been here a few times, and never a disappointment. Servers and staff are friendly and the service is prompt Had the lemon garlic chicken, was very tasty but a huge portion, and would be fine sharing it between two people. & also tried their sangria for the first time, I chose the peach, and it was amazing! For someone who’s picky with their sangria I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone who likes something besides beer.

Really good, the bread with butter is really good. My favourite is lunch time, the price is good and the portion is big. It also includes salad or soup for appetizer and for dessert spumoni ice cream.

Best value for money I’ve seen! Everything is included in the one meal(bread, soup or salad, main, ice cream and a tea or coffee). The mains were good but not the best pasta. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Don’t forget to book as people were waiting longer than 30mins for a table.

Wollten mal was anderes als immer Burger und Steak. Also ab zum Nudel essen wobei es mehr zur Auswahl hat. Cooles Ambiente, saßen in einem alten Straßenbahnwagon. Wobei das ziemlich beengt war. Mal was anderes. Bedienung war super freundlich und das Essen lecker und große Portionen zu einem fairen Preis.

4 words. Hot, fresh sourdough bread. I’m not even a fan of sourdough bread normally, but Old Spaghetti Factory’s(referred to as OSF from here on out) fresh-out-of-the-oven loaves of sourdough bread not only warmed my belly, but my heart as well. The whipped butter and garlic butter that came along with it were irresistible too. Best of all, the bread(and butter, gotta have that butter) is unlimited! I woke up the next morning only to realize that with the number of times we had sent our waiter back to the kitchen for bread refills, we had ended up each eating one whole loaf of bread. It’s a wonder that we even managed to eat our salads/soups, spaghetti, and spumoni ice cream. What a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm but quirky, and there was a giant train car that people could also dine in(#goals). I’m not going to lie and say that the food was top quality and absolutely mind-blowing, but I will be honest and say that this was one of the best meal experiences I’ve had in a while. It’s always fun to go with lots of friends and pass around different pastas, and have bread-eating competitions. OSF, I loaf you.

We went there with my friend thinking we would have a nice Italian meal… we were very disappointed! We had an appetizer: tomato flatbread with goat cheese, it’s a total cheat! The goat cheese is very bland and it was scrambled goat cheese, same you would buy in a supermarket, nothing compared to the smooth tasty goat cheese I had from the Farmers Market this morning :(. Also the flatbread was quite thick and they put too much balsamic which was masquing the taste of the cheese even more. We had vegetable lasagna as entrée and they give you free hot tea and minestrone soup with it. I didn’t like the soup, the plate they put the bowl on was wet as the soup got poured on the side. The lasagna were tasteless, looked like they had been frozen and put in the oven, they were overflowing with water and there had big pieces of almost-raw green bell pepper which just didn’t fit in the smoothness of the dish. The ambiance is a little confusing… the music is trendy pop music, there is a wagon in the middle of the room, which looks cool but what’s the connection with Italian food?!? There are weird looking paintings and lamp shades, anyways not a big fan. Only positive point was the service, nice waiters. All in all I’m pretty disappointed with this place and would not recommend it at all, there are plenty other restaurants around that looked much tastier.

The food was disappointing lacked flavor and quality. Place had an old vintage feel to it. The waiters were quick and responsive. Price for food was very decent.

As at all of these, the food was good and affordable.(Here though, I was a little underwhelmed with the quality, so it’s the first one I’ve been to that I’ve rated lower than 4 stars.) The restaurant is surprisingly huge inside, with the trademark trolley-car dining area in one room. The significant amount of seating seems to keep down wait times, even for large groups. It’s pretty inside, with dark wood, brass, and stained glass surrounding you. And the staff is welcoming, friendly, and patient.

I was pretty let down by my food and the service here. I love the atmosphere and décor, but that’s about where it ends for me. I had the Manicotti, which was tasteless and watery. The server disappeared for 10 minute intervals making our dining experience last about 30 minutes longer than it should have. I wouldn’t come back.

Don’t go in here expecting anything fancy… chances are you can make a better pasta at home! However, for less than $ 20 for pasta, bread, salad and ice cream, you might as well give it a try. The bread was good, salad and chicken parm were alright and I lost my appetite by the time dessert was being offered. For the amount of people in the restaurant, I thought the service was way too slow but the server was nice so no big deal for me. The bathroom was clean which is always appreciated! The best part for me was the patio! I got to watch all the tourists in gastown while I picked at my chicken parm!!! If you’re not too picky, are on a budget or need to feed the whole family, this just might be your spot! Restaurants don’t come more family friendly than this! For everyone else who doesn’t fall into the above categories, I would honestly suggest taking your money to a different location. Even if you fall in the above categories, I would still suggest going elsewhere.

I’m sad I ordered the pesto pasta instead of the marinara because the pesto was a little too oily for my taste. When I was finished I ended up with a pool of olive oil at the bottom of my plate. The bartender was kind enough to give me a sample of the marinara meatball which was amazing, but a little too late since I had already ordered. I was disappointed that the greeter put me in the bar and stated that she didn’t have a table for me since I was dining alone. That sucks! I wasn’t happy because I was looking forward to sitting down after a day of walking and quietly enjoying my dinner. I also don’t drink alcohol so I didn’t really want to be at the bar. Turns out I had a very nice bartender(Joe) checking up on me and making sure I had a nice dinner. I also had a fun time watching the chefs work in the kitchen. So I had a nice dinner but I was still a little angry with the server for lying to me since I saw several empty tables which she claimed she didn’t have. Is this how all customers are treated if they dine alone? Not cool. I would highly recommend giving this place a try but I would suggest the marinara pasta over the pesto. Tip: During happy hour most of the meals are ½ off. Arrive before 5:30 pm.

Simply loved the place. I got the potpourri classic spaghetti which comes with a free side salad(or soup) and a small ice cream after you enjoyed meal. Before you get started you will get a warm baguette with cream as an appetizer. If you love fresh bread just like me, it is good enough to call it a day by then! The spaghetti was really good and the waitress was friendly. The only problem was the long waitings we had before we were seated, and before we finally started eating the main course. But the overall experience was positive.

Tried to make lunch reservation at advance for 10 people and was turned down by the manager named Isabel. She said that she doesn’t want to take the reservation, but they do have tables available for walk in. Really?! How does that work? If you have tables available just take the reservation — it’s that simple! I think it is not a good service when the restaurant manager doesn’t even bother to accommodate customers. Also not good for the restaurant to lose a group of 10 because somebody doesn’t know her job well enough. Very frustrating!

I had the best pasta in years here!!! I ordered the Mascarpone ravioli with Alfredo sauce, wild mushrooms and chicken. CRAZYDELICIOUS. The service and the ambiance was amazing, we got refill of both bread and drinks throughout our dinner. The portions are really big so you can get a doggie bag home. I do not understand that this place only have 3 stars. You get so much for your money due to the«all inclusive» concept.

Party of 5 for early dinner. Seated when we arrived. Sourdough bread. Sourdough bread? No way. Very bland and nowhere even close to being sourdough bread. More like plain white bread. Nowhere near what their sourdough bread use to be. HINT, HINT… Management. Service– waiter seems not to be a happy camper today. Couldn’t even get a positive facial expression from the guy. — had to get up and ask another server for glasses and water AFTER our appies arrived. Good thing the manager came to accommodate us; our server plumb forgot. The meal: it arrived promptly — good with no problems here. — refills? of water, etc… Server didn’t even ask. Thank goodness for bussers. ICECREAM — spumoni — can’t go wrong here. Overall — reasonably priced for a dinner with good company. Service — definitely in need of improvement with the fella servicing us. Will avoid him should we decide to come back to this location. I’d hate to be on the receiving end again when they get busy. I’ll stick to the Richmond Location; same food with much better service.

Excellent!

[Trolley Station Spaghetti] I remember coming here when I was much younger. Being a student, the OSF was a cool place to grab a sit down dinner with your friends without having to sell your left kidney. It was also fun to be seated inside the full-sized San Francisco-esque trolley in the middle of the old-fashioned restaurant. A decade later, things haven’t changed a bit — only I’ve become a little more critical when it comes to the food. Their«menus» are a single folded page made of newsprint. I guess they’re trying to maintain that old school feel. Pasta dishes include a soup or salad, ice cream and tea for around $ 15. Excellent value considering we’re in Gastown. I went with the traditional spaghetti and meatballs — after all, it’s called the Old Spaghetti Factory. Three were 3 medium-sized meatballs all of which were dry and tasted like they’ve been microwaved. Certainly not as awesome as I remembered them. The pasta was lukewarm but was cooked al dente. I had a house salad to accompany the pasta which was fresh and was actually quite good. I ended the meal with a spumoni ice cream which tasted like some generic brand from Superstore. The service here is decent. Servers were friendly and helpful though some were a bit inexperienced. However, it’s much better than the service we got at the Richmond location. If you’re looking for a cheap meal in a central downtown location, this might be for you. However, the food quality leaves something to be desired and I feel that I could think of better places to spend my money.
