I went here late on a Tuesday and inadvertently ordered breakfast passed the time when they were serving such items; however, the cook over heard and said it would be no problem. He then proceeded to make the best eggs Benny I have ever had. This place has awesome service, good food and reasonable prices… not too mention Granpa’s coffee(coffee with whiskey mmmmmmm).

The food is awesome! We stopped by in the afternoon. It was off hours and quiet, but the service was quick and flexible. Their«grandpa’s coffee» was mighty fine, and I’d go back here anytime.

During the day mid-week, my girlfriend and I stopped into this café. I ordered the vanilla french toast with a cup of fruit. Food was fine but nothing great. The service was also nice, although somewhat occupied(which could be because they seemed to be general setup for the afternoon, but we were one of only two tables at the time).

I used to love Waazubee. For the first year or so I lived here, it was great. Over the past year, though, the food has gone from really good to poor. Why did they get rid of the yummy garlic mayo that came with the fries? What happened to that tasty dressing on the salad? It is like eating grass now. And they used to have real specials, like blue plate deals that had three courses for like $ 10 or $ 15 and they were good! Now you can’t get a decent salad here anymore. It seems like they are trying to change from a restaurant with edible food to a mere bar. All of the old waitresses(with one exception) are gone. And the paintings! Please take those crappy muddy depressing ugly paintings down if you want anyone to have an appetite. But, I guess they really don’t want anyone to eat the food. It used to be my old reliable. Now I avoid it like the plague.

Hmmmm… I think I like this place! I was taken here on my first day in Vancouver by my boss for lunch. I was a little too nervous to take it all in back then, so I’m really glad I went back. Wazubee is one of those places that looks better at night under candlelight, too. I thought the atmosphere in this joint was as good as any place I’ve eaten in during my short time(6 months) in Vancouver. There were groups of peeps drinking and laughing, couples chatting and canoodling. Plus, I also saw the bus driver from my regular route 16 enjoying a drink with her friends. I get the feeling that you can just chill here with a drink before, during and after a meal without feeling pressured to get a move on for the next sitting. Food: I had probably the best burger I’ve had in Vancouver. Nothing massive, just really tasty on a nice bun. The fries were excellent, too. I didn’t really explore the drinks menu too much, but my friend had an apple sour which she seemed to enjoy a lot. And there are lots of other cool dinks to choose from on the menu. The waitress was very friendly and had everything under control. The bill was about average for Vancouver eating out. $ 60-ish for three burgers(one veggie), two pints and an apple sour. I would definitely go back and would probably try to catch the DJ next time that was setting up just as we were leaving.

Super unimpressed. Went back on Friday and had the Chicken Waazubwich which had been lovely in the past. Well, this time it was dry, the bread was totally not cut-able with a knife and fork, and there was hardly any sauce happening at all. The server rushed us, and wasn’t particularly attentive. Bummer.

I LOVE coming here. Service is sometimes questionable, but I can live with that. Drinks are awesome, food is actually not bad, and atmosphere is chill. It’s a late night place so I’m often here on random weekday nights. Cool place.

One of my favourite brunch places in Vancouver needs my Unilocal to the rescue! Don’t understand the lack of love for Waazubee’s. i mean, sure it’s a little dark and dingy inside and it’s not the most reasonably priced for rabbit food … but this place is still awesome. Some excellent choices for vegetarians, for what I remember. I used to do brunch here alot. Loved it all. Their coffee was stellar. Service is very commercial-drive; laid back and chill. During the summer you can kinda glance out onto the Drive and stare at weirdos on the street. It’s open late for drinks. Or as late as Vancouver permits. One of my faves! Will always be back at Waazubees!

really bad service for weekday lunch. Use to be a regular but since the manager and most of the staff left I’d give it a miss. Drinks are the strong point; good wines, gins, rums, and alot of beer options. Food portions are really small and over priced.

This place is A-ok. I’ve come here a bunch of times and since its a late night place, it’s nice to be able to chill and eat and not worry about the time. I’ve never sat down for a formal dinner, just appies and drinks… and they were both great. I hadn’t had a hot chocolate in years and I was nervous ordering one here, but it was amazing, equipped with homade whipped cream. I think this place is either entirely Vegetarian or pretty close because I remember having lots of options to choose from. Their yam fries are more like yam chips, but they are still delish! If your here on a weekend, the DJ is really good, too bad there isn’t anywhere to dance!

Go for the atmosphere but not for the brunch! It’s better in the evenings and that is why i’m giving this 2 stars instead of just one. Here’s my story and I’m sticking to it! On my plate: eggs over easy, brown toast, baked beans in tomatoe sauce(i don’t understand this… who eats this for breakfast) and hashbrowns. The food review: One egg overdone, the other runny. Slightly greasy. sausage is not your typical pork sausage. However that being said, overdone as well. On the slightly spicy side but tolerable to the non-spicy folk. The beans were just silly. I would rather have fruit. The hashrowns were terribly greasy and overcooked. Service: waitress had the personality of a tick. It was almost next impossible to get our waitress to come to our table whether it was for service or to get the bill. We finally went up to the till and tried to pay where we still had to wait and felt as if we were inconveniencing her. OH, it was awful. It wouldn’t have been such a bad experience if it wasn’t for the service. I think that blonde haired woman was having a bad day. I will say this, it was not the fabulous Marcie. yeah. i’ve eaten here before and for the money, go elsewhere. you can do so much better on so many levels.

I’ve been a fan of WaaZuBee for years, but an experience last weekend has me revising my loyalty. An old friend was in town for the weekend, and we decided to meet here for brunch. We were seated right away, the place wasn’t full(it was noon on a Saturday), and shortly thereafter placed our orders: huevos rancheros and guacamole for both of us. 45 minutes later, we were still waiting for our food. We asked our server(whose attention was unusually hard to attract) what was up. She went and asked the cooks, and eventually the manager came over. He apologized, one of the chefs had apparently gone home sick, and offered us each a free drink: we both ordered a glass of white wine. Ultimately, our meals took more than an hour to reach our table. On the surface, the staff clearly did the right thing here. The thing is, it was too little too late. If a chef leaves and the food is gonna take a while, tell the affected customers preemptively. Offer them some bread. Don’t wait for THEM to ask what’s up, and then take another 10 minutes to offer them something to make up for it. Then, just to further aggravate us, we were overcharged for our guacamole. This has not turned me off WaaZuBee’s for good: I’m still a fan of their fries and garlic mayo, and wouldn’t turn down an invite to eat here. But I’m pretty sure I won’t suggest eating here again any time soon. There are too many good restaurants in this city, particularly on the Drive.

There is plenty of seating at Waazubees, a left-leaning, culture-encouraging restaurant/bar in the heart of the Commercial Drive landscape. While the menu is overpriced, it’s a good fallback if you and your roaming group of 10 friends can’t get seating anywhere else on a Friday night. Full of pseudo artists and shared-housing 20 year olds, Waazubee’s is relaxed and pleasant, with talkative servers and a cozy ambiance. With lots of theater and dance posters taped to the front windows, the space attempts to define itself as home to the creative, and the walls inside that aren’t coated in murals are decorated by works from local, still unsuccessful artists. Not the best bar in the neighborhood, it is reasonable and the food is actually pretty good. Perfect if you need to continue drinking before last call and don’t want any nonsense from the smaller and busier bars.

Fun, casual place with a very nice wine list by the glass, including flights. The service is very friendly and we appreciated it when the staff brought us some complimentary wine to taste.

This place is one of the Drive’s funky and tasty hangouts. I especially like their breakfasts; lots of fresh items on the menu and they make good coffee, too. There’s a pretty good selection for the vegetarian crowd, and the ambience is friendly and upbeat. If it’s really busy, service can be a bit slow and disorganized, but I’d still recommend Waazubi for their good menu and for the good people watching you can do here.
