The Ultimate Cut Unisex

The 200^th is a review that has been in the pipeline for a while. So long in fact that the Ultimate Cut has undergone two price hikes, renovation, and reinvention since the conception of what you are about to read!
My family has a history of being loyal to barbers/​hairstylist who are consistent, regardless of how caught up they are with modern trends! It was for the same reason that in the earlier years, I would go to the same barber that my father, uncles, grandfather and even mother’s uncles had been going to for years! A move to Toronto disrupted this tradition, and my preteens were marked by a series of mediocre or poor haircuts before my father and I discovered The Ultimate Cut!
Fast forward fifteen years, and rarely have vacations, moves within the city, and even moving to the US stopped me from missing a haircut at the Ultimate Cut! While a lot of stylist have come and gone over the years, the good attitude of the original managers (Ultimate Cut was merged with another salon recently) and the consistency have not changed. Much to my amazement, the base price of a haircut also did not change for about 10 years, until it was increased by a dollar last year, and then by a few more after the merger!
The factor that has me coming back even more than the haircut is the fact that Ultimate Cut is a modern salon with an old school barbershop feel! For example, the last time I had to wait around for my barber/​stylist, the manager offered to make me coffee and entertained me with some Italian jokes! Additionally, the styling staff I’ve interacted with have interesting personalities, and I’ve personally traded everything from travel tips to fishing gear with my own barber!
I feel recommending a hair salon is even more difficult than recommending a restaurant due to the large variance in personal taste and style. That being said, the Ultimate Cut has kept me satisfied over the years and I would recommend it to those in the neighbourhood.
