Y.E.E: GOAAALLL! Kickin’ It With Elites @ WEGZ

It’s always a fun and awesome time to attend Unilocal events and this one was no different.
Multitude of screens, including a really large one in the main area, flowing appetizers and every sporting event a man can ask showing live — what more can you ask for?
The sliders provided from the evening were amazing, both came in pulled pork and meatball variety. Very delicious! The desserts at the end were a great way to end off the evening.
But to top it all off were the great crowd and friends. I finally feel more comfortable being around other fellow Elite members that I can say I know more than just Kris U. and Jennifer K.
I can’t wait to check out a major sporting event at Wegz in the near future! I usually try to hit Real Sports but I usually get discouraged by the drive and the not free parking.
Wegz is close to where I am and it’s free parking!

Having no one team to root for for the WC, I was finding it a little difficult to choose what colour to sport for this event, ended up going with the good old Red and White (Canada…not England). I was actually really looking forward to checking out WEGZ to hear what a «sports stadium» would be like in the GTA and I was very impressed by the scale of the place and the fact that it is a sports fan’s dream spot. As a F1 fan I was ecstatic to see that they show the races at 7:45. So maybe I might be hear super early on a Sunday!
OK enough about the location, it was great and I’m happy I got to check it out. Now to the event! I liked that we were indeed the envy of the rest of the bar since we had the largest screen (along with a bunch of others) nearly encompassing one whole wall for us. We were also spoiled by a constant barrage of food led our way, and I got to try out a couple of beers, one which I would not have tried out if it weren’t for this event (Bud Black Crown) and one I’ve been meaning to try out for a while (the hoppy beer from Ketih’s). Both were better than expected although I’d stick to the Keith’s if given the same option in the future.
I missed out on some of that delicious looking dessert cups but managed to snag a tart or two to make up for it. I enjoyed the free pool we had to offer, but Vlad and I were disappointed that our $ 1 at the foosball table gave us only 4 balls which ended not providing a whole lot of entertainment for too long lol.
Got to meet some new friends (mainly +1s of other fellow Unilocalers) along with a couple of Elites coming out for their first event. Can’t wait to see what Kris has in store for us next in this, his summer of making sure us Elites barely go more than a couple of weeks between events! Thanks a lot Kris! (apologies for the super delay in getting this review out haha!)

What an amazing time I had here. It was definitely worth the struggle of getting here (ask Vlad and Dishan…).
It was nice to finally visit Wegz, it is after all only seven minutes from my place of work.
I want to say a huge thank you to Wegz staff and Kris. I had such a fun, memorable night! The meat ball sliders and pulled pork sliders made my world go round, I found them THAT good.
The beer was aplenty which was appreciated (shout out to Dishan for being mine and Vlad’s DD!!).
I really liked the area we were sectioned in. It was so neat. I also liked the gigantic t.v.
The huge beer dispensers intrigued me. I would definitively love to visit again and have a go at one of those.

And score! 5 stars, baby. This event was awesome… and it started off with a water bottle freebie for checking in. Love it!
Amazing Venue? Check. The screens are HUGE. I am not a big sports fan, but I do watch FIFA; and catching a game at WEGZ this year is definitely mandatory!
Nom Nom Noms? Check. I tried a meat slider and a pulled pork slider, both of which were out of the world amazing. I also loved the fried risotto ball with the dipping sauce. And dessert? The mousse was fantastic.
I am running out of positive adjectives to describe this event. Thanks for the great experience, Kris.
Unfortunately, my phone was running low on battery life and I didn’t get around to taking any pics. But I noticed resident photographer Diego around, so I am sure there will be a fair share of pictures coming up soon.

I came all the way from downtown Toronto to check out this event. I’m glad I did!
I wanted to introduce a couple of friends to the Unilocal world and they were quite impressed with the friendliness and positivity of Unilocalers! We always talk about how great the site is for finding good places to eat, especially when travelling.
I think Unilocal may have at least one new addition to the Unilocal team! :)

Saved my 50^th review just for this event! I had a fantastic time hanging out with old and new elite friends.
Awesome huge screen to watch sports on. Great atmosphere. Paul and the 2 Nicole’s were great servers. Always made sure each table had food and drinks. Pulled pork sliders, meat ball sliders, salad, rice balls, dessert… everything was delicious.
Huge shout out to Kris for organizing this amazing event! I cannot wait for the next one!

Elite events rocks!
This place was a great choice! Tv was a big key for me. Sharing the cheery attitude while watching the playoffs on a big screen.
The samplers was totally amazing! The cheeseball, pulled pork slider and the meatball slider was mouth watering and delicious. I had the Keith’s to drink and although it was not for me, it wasn’t bad and manage to get 2^nd’s. The best part was when Paul one of the servers always came around us with an empty plate. The food went by fast!
It was a great atmosphere being around other Unilocalers. And kudos to Kris U and the crew for making this event happen. The great mini games and give away and the autograph doll was a nice touch.
Again this was a great event in an awesome restaurant. I will definitely be back here to try other food in the menu especially their famous chicken wings.

Elite event at Wegz Stadium Bar…
Like all Kristian’s events he puts a lot of thought and effort into making it a night to remember for his Elite Members and +1 guests.
The staff at Wegz were great, serving up lots of hot food such as pulled port sliders and meatball burgers. Presentation of the appetizers made my mouth water and wanting more. Being a sports bar we were served two types of beer which was the perfect compliment to the food we ate. Unexpected was the desert presentation of Chocolate moose in a fluted glass, bite size pastries and fruit. It’s safe to say all the members have a sweet tooth as they rushed to get their sugar fix.
As always lots of Unilocal goodies to take home. Those who checked in on line received a cool Unilocal water bottle! Great idea. Kristian brings something different to the table at his events. Well done! Look forward to the next one.

My first Unilocal event, a bunch of Unilocal buddies, a hockey game on a giant screen, and an excuse to put on my England jersey. What more could a guy want? Oh yeah: nail files. LOTS and lots of nail files apparently. Haha.
The bar itself was huge and impressive and I could see myself hanging out here to watch a couple games (England v. Italy anybody?) during the World Cup or just hanging out for some food and drinks. The screens were big and plentiful and it was darker without being uncomfortably dim. Also, I wasted WAY too much time seeing how fast I could kick the very deflated soccer ball at the screen in the little video soccer game around the corner from the Unilocal event.
In terms of the food and the drink, I enjoyed in particular the Alexander Keith’s Galaxy Hops and the meatball sandwiches. The beer had a nice rich flavour with a little hint of citrus or tropical fruit. It seemed like a nice sit-​around-​the-​summer-​backyard-​campfire kind of beer. The meatballs were huge on a nice crusty bun with some basil on top for a little flavour. And to top it off it had (the always a favourite) melted cheese in the middle of the meatball. Tasty.
It was great to finally put some non-​tiny internet photo faces to some names and meet some of you. Those that I missed I will get to next time… a guy can only take so much socializing! Haha.

It was my first time at Wegz, and damn was I impressed. Never have I ever seen so many televisions in one place lol. You couldn’t miss the game if you tried. This is definitely the type of place I’d like to come to with the guys.
The hors d’oeuvres that were served were absolutely delicious. I went to the event straight from work so I was starving but I was full within the hour. Those meatball sliders.. . damn! The beer was great obviosuly (you can’t really go wrong with beer) and the dessert was good too. I didn’t take any pictures, but I’m sure there were enough pics taken considering the fact that we’re all Unilocalers.
To make things better, it was a really good crowd of people! Even the +1s that were brought were cool, and I’m sure that after this event, they probbably all went home and signed up for Unilocal lol. I know I would have.
Overall, I was really impressed with both the venue and the event. Kudos to you Kris. Epic event bro!

Kris really knows how to throw a party! I rarely go to Vaughan so I’ve never heard of Wegz before. Holy! It’s the biggest sports bar I’ve ever visited. This is the place to go to if you want to catch a game. They also have a golf simulator, foosball, and pool.
I never realized that the majority of the food were ball related until I looked at other Unilocalers reviews. The majority of us really enjoyed the meatball slider! Two types of beer were being served that night but you could get pop or other drinks for free. The mousse dessert looked really elegant that you wouldn’t expect it to come from a sports bar.
I didn’t mingle much this time but I plan to for the next event I go to. Kris has some really awesome events lined up and I can’t wait to attend them! Thanks again Kris !

May’s YEE was definitely in a much more fun environment packed with games and sports!!! I mean those two things are a must! Big ups to Kris for setting up this event and making it happen. With an entourage of Unilocal Elites and newbies we made our trek to Wegz… For some it was their first time.
Though outside was a torrential downpour, we had some cool beers… but the food is what topped it up. The servers N — — and Paul were both amazing! And totally chilled!
Among the notables. .mmmmm pulled pork sliders, beef burger sliders and the beautiful dessert! Those were a perfect 5!!! Cooked to perfection and not over done at all.
The rice balls were also a hit!!! But you can’t compare to the rest of the food… too bad I missed out on the salad. .lol
Few things for next time. … perhaps drink options… maybe some vino… And a few more food options just to diversify the menu

Did I score last night? Hell yeah, I scored big time with WEGZ! Jealous much?
The whole stadium (WEGZ stadium bar) was packed to get a chance to see Kris bend it like Beckham. He brought his Winning 11 or 50(Yelpers) with him, sorry but I lost count after my 3^rd or 10^th Alexander Keith’s Galaxy Hop. Kris and WEGZ played an entertaining match doing miracles with those balls. We Unilocalers were able to handle the strong offensive pressure and kept pace all game til the very end.
It was such a sweet ending with the award (dessert) presentation along with floral displays as the stadium was so deafening with cheers that we could barely hear Kris speak. As much as Italia had a demanding presence (Rice Balls, Meat Balls, Biscottis) in support, it was a diverse international (Spring Rolls, Pulled Pork) representation that makes the World Cup such an exciting moment that brings all cultures together as is the same with Unilocal GTA.
Keep Kickin’ it up a few notches. That’s how you get the most memorable Hat-​Tricks{ or in the WEGZ off-​track wagering area it’s know as a «Trifecta”}.

Wegz is the grand-​daddy of all sports bars, this place is huge. This was my first elite event and I had an awsome time. The screen that we were watching the hockey on was so big, it felt like I was watching the game in a movie theatre. We enjoyed snack size food which consisted of mini sliders, mini pulled pork buns, salad, risotto balls and an assorment of desserts with beer while we watched the game. I must say it was an excellent night out with friends, food and sports.

The most fun you can have with balls. Soccer balls, basketball, rice balls, meatballs…
This was my first time at Wegz and it sure as hell won’t be my last. The place is phenomenal from the outside and inside. Easily one of the more impressive sports viewing arenas in Toronto and the GTA. There were giant TV’s showing all various sports with a ticker running across the dining area. The place is also filled with pool tables and soccer simulators that were unique and fun.
The wonderful servers brought out enough hors d’oeuvres to satisfy the bunch. Like a bunch of mad men, we seemed to descend upon the poor servers raking up whatever we could see. I loved the cheese stuffed meatball sliders and rice balls. Those meatballs were huge and the rice balls with that garlic aioli were great. The spring rolls and pulled pork sliders were ok.
And when the dessert came up, everyone got up off the table and straight to the lineup. To grab some dessert? Naw. We’re Unilocalers. Everyone lined up to get a shot of how nice the dessert looked before they indulged. And indulged they did. Ever watch the Walking Dead? Just like that. Those poor desserts never stood a chance.

Biscotti with chocolate mousse, cheesecake tart, meatball sliders, pulled pork sliders, deep fried risotto balls with sauce, salad with balls, hockey, baseball, basketball playing on large screen tv’s and free booze? Need I say more? Probably not, but I like the sound of my own voice.
Great place to watch any sport as there are tons of TV’s. The food is decent too. I think I’ll consider going to WEGZ instead of Real Sports for a big sporting event as it’s not as crowded.

My first Unilocal event as an elite! Glad we made it out even though it was a rainy day. The sports bar was awesome, great atmosphere especially during the hockey game! I didn’t know what to expect at the event, but I got to meet Kris and discover such an awesome place in Vaughan.
Free beer and food is awesome– meatball sliders yum! Also got a check-​in swag, Unilocal water bottle. love it! Many thanks to Kris for organizing and WEGZ for a great night!

Its really awesome to be accepted into a community of people who never met me in person before… Moments from walking in I was brought to the bar from one of my Unilocal friends and chatted it up until the party really started and things got going.
Cool snacks to snack on, good drinks to drink but honestly the best part is meeting new people and seeing the faces to the names I only knew before. Awesome stuff, I will come again and next time try and drag my wife along with me (no promises) thanks everyone for making my time super comfortable and fun :) *you know who you are* !

Oh yes, Kris did it again! This is the first time I have come to a sports bar and it’s not just any sports bar. This place is gigantic! Now I know why it is called a stadium bar.
Loved the atmosphere in here. I enjoyed the meatball burgers (the basil leaf on top gave it a nice flavor) and non-​traditional spring rolls. The risotto balls were pretty good too. And of course there were some delicious desserts to finish off. I love how Kris’s events always have more than enough food and drinks for everyone.
Thanks to the WEGZ staff who were really amazing throughout the evening!
Oh, and did I mention they have golf and soccer simulators, Pool and Fooesball tables?! This is a great place to hang out with a group of friends.
