Business Owner

After winning his first Victoria Marathon in 1986, Phil decided to combine his passion for running with opening a business to serve his fellow runners. He saw a growing demand for high-​quality gear as running as a fitness activity began to take off in Victoria. Phil went on to win the Victoria Marathon two more times and set a personal best record of 2 hours and 18 minutes. In 1991, Phil opened Island Runner. In October of 2014, Phil relaunched the store as 2:18 Run to reflect his personal best marathon time. Phil wants the new name to inspire people to achieve their own personal best.
