Airporter Shuttle Bus

I live next to the Turtle Hostel, called to confirm they could do pickup there and brought 4 tickets online at the discounted price (they have volume discounts). The day before the trip, called to make reservation, was told they could not pick up at Turtle Hostel, we would have to walk down to their main line on Blanshard street. Surprised, but no big deal. The bus came on time so was happy with that. Lots of space, comfortable seats, newer bus. Flash forward now to the return trip. When we got back to Victoria Jan 31^st, went to the airport shuttle desk. The fellow working there said the 745PM bus had broke down, we would have to wait an hour. He said the tickets could be refunded, if we didn’t want to wait we could catch a cab into town. He gave me email for Travis, one of the managers to get the refund. The four tickets cost $ 78, he refunded $ 34. I was expecting $ 39 refund (ie half). So I lost the volume discount. His rationale was that this was company policy. My rationale was that the refund should be half b/​c it wasn’t my fault the bus had broke down; I was planning on taking it. Anyway, after a few emails back and forth, he claimed that there were no broken down busses that night! That was weird. I called the credit card company to file a merchant dispute and they refunded the difference to my account. Not much, but to me a matter of principle. Taxis into town are about $ 60. The shuttle is bargain if travelling alone, but if you are travelling with someone else, for a few bucks more just take taxi and save yourself the hassle.

The trip from the airport to the Marriott went as follows on Tuesday, April 28^th about 1:40 p.m. The bus driver got in the van and did not shut up until he announced that we were taking a detour to the company’s office so that he could get off and drivers would be changed. He also announced that this was the end of his day and week as if any of us cared. He talked all about himself and his life. The new driver was quiet but did not seem to know much about his job and the original driver kept calling him. It was unnerving and stupid and I will never use this service againnnnnnnnnnn. How could he concentrate on driving all these people when he is talking and talking and talking and talking. Truly do you think this was professional at all?
The driver from the Marriott on Saturday, May 2^nd at 9:56 was police and professional but our original experience was so bad.

My pickup was scheduled for 2:25pm at Save on Foods Arena. I was picked up at 2:23pm. Our next scheduled stop was 2:30pm at Accent Inns. Instead we back tracked to the Delta resort. After the pickup there we drove to Saanich Center to swap driver. Our scheduled time of arrival at the airport was 2:50pm. We left the Saanich center parking lot at 2:55pm. If you are going to have a schedule, keep it. Their web site says give 10 minutes for possible traffic. This is beyond 10 minutes and I will now arrive at the airport 25 minutes late from their posted time. I do not need this extra stress. I highly recommend catching a cab in stead.

Good service but can be a bit slow. I guess they usually leave every ½ hour but the day I was here it was 45 – 50 min and it was a long drive to the hotel due to all the stops to different places.
It is around $ 26.00 a person and I finally got to my hotel 2 hours or so later. On the bright side it was cheaper than the taxi and I was dog tired after traveling for 18 hours and needed the time to sit and just chill.

Fine service — good communication on the phone when I scheduled, and a comfortable ride to the airport at a reasonable price ($ 21). Be aware that this is a shared shuttle. I was the first stop out of 10 or so, so it took a while to pick everyone up, but the driver was efficient and I got to the airport in plenty of time.

Not bad, a bit slow due to the number of different hotel drop offs. The price is great at $ 21.00 but a taxi would have been direct thus saving 30 – 40 mins. I will be in a cab on the way back.
