10 minutes outside of downtown Victoria, we called a cab and waited for 30 minutes, during which time they called back to confirm. Called again, then waited 15 more minutes and decided to walk. What a useless taxi company.

Called for a cab and waited… waited…and waited. After45 minutes I called and was assured the cab was coming. After 15 more minutes I called Victoria taxi and thru were there in 2 minutes with a smile. The driver was so friendly. Took victoria taxi back home and again the driver was amazing. Call Victoria taxi! do not call bluebird! Btw they never did arrive nor did they call me.

So I called there to just politely ask how long it would be for our cab because I was told 10 mins or a little longer, and it had taken over 30 mins. The male agent started getting defensive right off the bat and said no one there would have said that to me. When I tried to defend my case, he got more defensive and started to be rude. I told him that I felt he was being rude and then he hung up on me. Not very nice customer representatives if you ask me!

Usually reliable but avoid 19 and 29. Downright lazy and dishonest owners. Their drivers are not crooks like them

This morning I called the cab to make the time for breakfast before departure back to the states. Dispatcher was nice and cab arrived within ten minutes. Upon entering there was short intro, driver was not friendly and looked stern. Destination was just three miles away and entire trip was in silence. Total came to be little over $ 10 so I handed $ 20 and had $ 5 given back. It was folded so I assumed it was two $ 5 bills. I handed him tip and got out of the cab, and once I got out I checked the bill again and noticed he short changed me $ 5. He sped away before I had chance to say anything — $ 16 for three mile ride is outrageous. Called dispatcher and was told he blamed me for not checking. When I spoke to him, he was very defensive and I had to catch the ferry in an hour so never had it resolved. Left very negative taste for my last day of trip! If he would have stated it was honest mistake and just apologized, I would have forgiven. This sort of experience reaffirms my resolve not to use taxi.

Normally blue bird is really great. However, the driver we received this time was absolutely horrible. We got the van cab from Fleming Beach. Kind of felt uncomfortable right away. The cab driver didn’t smile at us or say hello or anything. Shortly after we got in the car he bragged to us about picking up a phone that someone dropped out of their car and onto the road (???). My father, who is older and overheats easily, put the windows down to get some air. The driver promptly put them back up. My father tried to put the window down again and the driver once again… put them back up. His facial expression the whole ride looked like he just wanted to jump out of the car. We asked him if it was busy tonight and he said no, and the proceeded to take the long way to our destination. I was paying with debit and put my phone down to use the machine, and forgot it in the back. We promptly called bluebird and spoke to a very friendly dispatcher. She was wonderful. She said that she spoke to him and he was being very uncooperative, and that most people would have turned around and brought us the phone but he refused to. She said that he had told her that he was «already in town and couldn’t turn around.» Which was obviously a lie because I called maybe 4 or 5 minutes after we exited the taxi so there’s no way he managed to get from Langford to Victoria, or even to the highway, in that time.
The dispatcher was very pleasant, however I could not be more unimpressed with the driver. I do not have a car so now I have to take a 2 hour bus ride all the way out to their offices to pick up my phone. I understand that it was my fault for forgetting my phone, but if he would have just turned around quickly and took the extra 5 minutes I would have definitely tipped him extra for his time, and this review would have 5 stars instead of one.

Blue Bird has been the best in consistent, timely service for me over 30 years and it’s time to say so…
Two weeks ago, another example with pick-​up within 5 minutes of calling, friendly service and a clean cab. Dispatch is quick and helpful.
I had an experience with Yellow Cab last month that reminded me not to use them again: slow response waiting street side such that I had to phone again for ETA after 20 minutes, rude attitude of the driver and scammed on the return change from my cash fare.
Stick with Blue Bird. ..

While we were in Victoria we used taxis 4 times. I can tell you that each time the cab was clean, the drivers were polite and they seemed to take us by the most direct route to where we were going.
When we asked about local attractions they were able and willing to share their knowledge with us. This makes sense to me because don’t service people work on tips? I always like to tip well for good service and the Victoria cabbies did well from these two visitors from Vancouver. Well done.

Came to Vancouver Island on a cruise. Dock was far from the downtown area. Bluebird cab came by and picked us up. Taxi driver was friendly. He gave us a mini tour. Described the buildings and local. He even suggested places to eat. Overall great ride. Would only use them if i’m ever in the area again.

My friend is currently waiting for a cab that she called for 1 hour ago. After the first 30 minutes, she called again just to see when her cab would arrive and was told that there were no cabs in the area (we’re a 10 minute drive from downtown) and to call back in 10 minutes. That was ½ an hour ago and she’s still waiting with no word from them.
I do realize it’s a busy night for them, but I’ve had this happen to me personally with this cab company twice. The first time I was downtown and waited for 45 minutes before I got fed up and called Victoria Cab, who showed up 5 minutes after I called.
The second time I waited almost an hour despite the fact that it was 7:00 am on a Sunday.
The third and last time I tried using them, they tried to tell me that my home address didn’t exist. I called Yellow Cab who managed to find my non-​existent house in 5 minutes.
Back to my friend: after an hour of waiting and a third polite but firm phone call to Blue Bird, a friend of hers got through to Yellow Cab. They arrived here in less than 10 minutes.
I have never had these kinds of problems with Victoria or Yellow Cabs, only Blue Bird.
My friend and I agree: we’re done with Blue Bird Cabs.

Too pricey! I called for a 4am pickup from Thetis lake area to the airport. Dispatcher said it would cost between $ 45 – 50. The final meter read $ 62. However the cab arrived 10 mins early and the driver was nice.

I’ve always used Blue Bird cabs. Never had any problems, until yesterday. I called for a cab at 9:15 pm. As usual, call was quick, left my name, location, was given a cheery, «Ok!».
Generally Blue Bird is quick. — 25 minutes passed by, and no sign of my cab, so I phoned them back, and was speaking with someone else (must of had 2 people on). I asked about the status of my cab, he said there was no call. Fair enough, mistakes happen. He then said I must of called someone else. I told him that their number was the only one in my phone, and that I always use them, and he again stated, in a louder voice, that I must of called someone else.
Sorry Blue Bird, when you screw up, take responsibility, and perhaps train your employees to have empathy and not assume your customers are in the wrong.

Arrives very quickly to pick you up when you call. Very clean cabs, with a fleet of energy efficient hybrids, this taxi service is a joy to use.

I’ve been in Blue BIrd Cabs dozens of times, and I can’t think of anything more I could want in a taxi service. They have clean cars, smart and helpful drivers, and accept credit cards, Canadian, and US dollars. The fleet’s also large enough where you can call for several cabs, and they’ll magically arrive within a matter of minutes (always nice when you’re with a large group).
