History

Established in 2005.

Blue Libellule was born from a personal desire to change over from using chemical product to natural product.

We decided to start making pour own products for our personal use. Our first was a and made soap consisting of 50% shea butter which we use daily as a complete body wash.

Next one was laundry soap, with that our aim was to participate in the removal of the dreaded «foam balls» that appear on the oceans world wide, caused by the over usage of detergents.

When sharing our discovery with friends and relatives, they also decided to switch over to natural soaps. From that was born Blue libellule Soaps and Such. In our fourth year we produced over 50K of a variety of natural organic product.

Meet the Business Owner

Christine O.

Business Owner

In 2006, I encountered shea for the first time. At the time, I was working for a business that manufactured natural personal care products. They had a client doing all kind of Shea products and were having trouble. The product was grainy, got a white film on etc… I asked my boss to let me try and I was not having very good results either. I was telling my husband the troubles I was having and he reminded me of Georges Washington Carver. He asked God to tell him the secret of the universe and God told him to pick something more to his size. So he asked for the secret of the peanut and got it. So, I asked the secret of Shea. And the answer was: Shea is the gift of God to the women of Africa and should be treated as such. So I started to work with Shea with respect and an amazing thing happened. It felt like the Shea was alive and gradually became to me like a teacher. It let me know what it liked or not, and following the instructions I felt I was getting, I became the Queen of Shea.
