calamares! sevillana! pollo! they’re all great! I like the service a lot! Professional, not saccharine over-the-top service but always gracious. Lovely space, bright, clean, airy and modern. But for real, get the CALAMARES sandwich if you like calamari, and then as you eat it, think about how unfortunate all the calamari you had in your past was and wonder how anything will ever compare to this.

Yes for food. Delicious! The breakfast sandwich is amazing. Customer service could use improvement. They ran out of bread for the breakfast sandwich and when I said I didn’t care about the type of bread they still wouldn’t sell it to me. Such a shame as it is such a simple solution to a customer request. Also the working hours could use improvement. they close early on Monday and Tuesday and are not open at all on Sundays. They could make a killing on Sundays too if they opened for brunch.

Wow wow wow wow wow… Simply amazing!!! The combination of spice and seasoning compliment their meat choices perfectly. The bread is warm soft and to die for. Put it all together and you get a sandwich worthy of a 10 star review. I got the chorizo sandwich and my lovely lady got the pollo sandwich. Both were magnificent in their own ways. The daily soup was a white bean potato manchego, which was also to die for. Not to rich not to thin… just right and packed with flavor. If you are in the city for a week or only a day this is an absolute must if you love great food!

Went for lunch around 1230, place was packed so I ordered the pollo sandwich to go. Took about 15 minutes but was worth the wait, very tasty. Would be a good place for a light lunch date — they even have beer/wine if interested. Will be back to try some of their other offerings.

I don’t even like chorizo and I loved his place. Had the Bocata breakfast sandwich with the brioche bun which was exceptional, the flavours were balanced perfectly and it was a good value at 6 $. I had to try the churro a while I was there as well. Paired with the chocolate dipping sauce, I died and went to heaven. Outstanding. I’ll also mention that the coffee is up there with any of the other places in town. They serve Discovery beans and it is . One of the best news opens in town.

A pleasant place to go for lunch for a delightful meal. You order and pay at the counter and find your seat. They will bring your meal to you. Service is friendly and helpful. Limited seating inside when it is busy. They do have seating on the main floor, upstairs, and outside. Food is really delicious and fresh. Ordered the chorizo sandwich, bocata breakfast sandwich, and churros. You can see from the pictures that it is really simple and not much to it, but still has a good taste. The chorizo sandwich was scrumptious. I just wish it had more protein. Pricing is above average in my opinion but still affordable. The sandwich had one chorizo sliced in half with lettuce, and sauce. The Bocata was about the size of a palm and was oily. Bun was good and the egg was cooked perfectly. Again, I wish there was more protein and with this sandwich it was a thin slice. Sauce was savory and unique. Churros looked better than they tasted. It wasn’t as soft as I though it would be. It was hard and not the crunchy way. It was also overloaded with sugar making it way too sweet. It was pretty pricey for three churros. Churros was not worth it. Overall, the best was definitely the chorizo sandwich. This place has good flavors and a place you can find something different to eat while in Victoria. I would come back here to try some of the other sandwiches. But as the name suggests, the Chorizo is definitely the star.

We tried almost everything and it was all exceptional! Tortillas, sandwiches, bocata(wow!), vegetables(excellent mushrooms and grilled kale), churros. Reasonable prices for such quality; plan to go back. It’s also nice that they’re licensed.

When we saw Blue Fox Café was full with a long lineup, we decide to try something new in the neighbourhood. I usually avoid sandwiches but this place has changed my mind. I had the Chorizo and loved it so much I purchased the Calamares to go. My sister-in-law never heard of the place and was shocked at how good it was. She loved the Bocata which I also picked up for my picky eater daughters. It was the first time my pickiest eater didn’t pull anything out of a sandwhich. That is a really good sign. If you are in Victoria check it out!

Great little Spanish Café. Espresso was very good as was my Migas breakfast(chorizo, croutons, poached egg and rocket). Chorizo sausage in particular was excellent.

A casual eatery where did is well presented and the home made chorizo is utterly divine. I loved that the owner /waiter showed such excitement and pain about their food Fantastic lunch and such a European Café

We visited here on a recent trip, and after just moving back to vancouver after years in Spain we were transported back with every bite. The quality of the products was impeccable, with every bite hitting the right notes. We had pimientos de pardon(perfectly cooked!), and a couple of bocadillos(highly recommend the pork butt one).

Just came here during the weekend and it was hopping with live music! They were fully booked so we wanted to come here again and made reso for tonight. Unfortunately it was super quiet, and for some reason the service was still really slow. Not the vibe we were hoping for. The food was alright, though nothing spectacular. We got 4 tapas and dessert and two glasses of their cheapest wine for $ 70. Overall good experience — not great, might come back for the churros which were superb, or to try some of their sandwiches(they have a bunch of dishes written on the board tho not available during dinner, what a bummer!) Or to see how the meal would be during the weekend with live music.

Stepping inside here was delightful. The staff are informative and kind, and the atmosphere is simple yet with character. When I end up here with people everyone goes on about how the food is incredible, if not beyond that. Personally my options are limited, which I understand going into restaurants as a vegetarian. Unfortunately, the sandwich I ordered was incredibly bland. Filling, but tasteless. I liked looking at it, but I didn’t really like eating it. May come here again with company, but I’d eat ahead of time.

A pleasant surprise that holds its own in a block full of excellent lunch options. .. . I ordered soup and salad because I wanted something light, and it’s a sure sign of care(or not) that was just over $ 10, including a bottle of gourmet lemonade. It was so good I have been recalling it as a signal to get back for their other Spanish lunch options, especially the sandwiches. The tomato-fennel soup was a flavourful silky broth with tender pieces of onions, tomato and fennel. The beet salad side was perfectly delicious with tender-cooked beet chunks, accented with fennel greens, topped with finely shredded cheese, tasting like a Manchengo. Presentation was artful. Service was super attentive and friendly. Good value. Wow, if they do a soup and salad this well, I wonder how yummy the rest of the menu tastes. .. .

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place while wondering around on Family Day. There was no line-up(unlike some other brunch places in the area). Why there was not a line-up for this place, I do not understand because it was AMAZING. We both ordered the bocata breakfast sandwich for a mere $ 6. We had to wait 10 – 15 minutes, but when it arrived — oh man. The chorizo, fried egg, alioli and cheese were a heavenly combination, along with the soft, fried brioche. Every bite was intensely delicious. I’m still thinking about it the next day — it was that good. It was also presented very nicely, and the restaurant itself is decorated in a modern Spanish style. I hope to return one day and try some of their other sandwiches, although I’m not sure how the bocata could be beaten(and it was their cheapest one!). Best breakfast sammy ever.

Delish! This has quickly become one of my fav stops when in Victoria. Bocadillos heaven. Great variety. Solid flavors. The Chorizo and Calamares are my two favs. They serve up Discovery bean too. Good place to work or host a meeting outside of peak hours. Additional seeing upstairs. Friendly and hospitable service. Free wifi.

A popular brunch spot down the street had a lineup I was so not willing to wait in for food. There’s no keeping this girl from the first meal of the day! Thankfully, a sidewalk sign we passed on the way up was advertising a bocata. I wasn’t sure what that was, but it was breakfast good and no line inside! So pleased with our brunch choice. A bocata each(ridiculously good chorizo, egg, cheese and aioli enveloped by such a fluffy, soft brioche bun), americano and a latte, finished off with flan and an almond tart… Oh my goodness. When’s the last time your food tasted so good it made you want to eat it more slowly so you could savour it as long as possible? We stayed around a good hour, nursing the last of our coffees and desserts, enjoying the laid back atmosphere of this Spanish deli… The service from ordering to finishing fit the bill too to have Chorizo earning a 5 star from me. I loved it!

Stumbled upon this place randomly and am so glad I did. The restaurant has a great vibe and a wonderful staff. You can really tell they care about the food they make. I was expecting good but I wasn’t prepared for what was coming. I ordered the Chorizo and was blown away. It was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Warm delicious bread with home made sausage and a great aioli sauce. I also ordered the chocolate churros, which were nothing less than amazing. You dip the homemade churros in this amazing melted chocolate. I was talking about this restaurant for the rest of the day and I couldn’t recommend it any higher.

My husband and I went here for a late lunch after checking out the menu and awesome pics on Unilocal. We got there around 4 p.m. and it was dead. There weren’t a lot of options available — the guy at the counter noted that the store was about to close for holiday after the new year so they didn’t have a lot of the usuals. A little disappointing(the tortillas look amazing in the photos) but we decided to get the chorizo sandwiches and some beers. I am SO glad we did. We’re big fans of chorizo anyways, and the sandwiches definitely were no exception! The bread was super soft, the chorizo warm, the alioli delicious. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had — seriously it was that good. Giving the place four stars only because of the limited offerings when we got there and the spendier price tag. Two sandwiches, a beer and a root beer set us back about $ 35. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town!
