Dashwood Manor is a charming and exquisitely renovated Victorian home, and each room is unique, gorgeous and tasteful. We stayed in the Cambridge room, which overlooks the coast.
The breakfast is sumptuous, and I must confess that I had way more than my share of the complimentary freshly baked cookies.
The hosts David and Michael clearly pour a lot of love and care into every detail and it’s easy to relax and feel right at home. The location is superb, close to downtown and trendy restaurants.
Highly recommend a long stroll along the ocean and a cozy bath in the indulgent love tub.
The interior décor takes you to another time and space. We would definitely come back to dashwood manor for our next Victoria trip. The whole experience was nothing short of magical!

Great place for a romantic weekend. We stayed in the Windsor Oak room which has a double jacuzzi and an electric fireplace in the main room. There it’s a full bath and a small kitchenette as well which makes it easy to hibernate. The house is over 100 years old with original oak panaling. It is impeccably decorated and extremely clean. There was a choice of three breakfasts all of which were served with fresh fruit and bacon. The food was good but not special. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it and I wouldn’t be too disappointed if I slept in and missed it. What I would miss would be the view from the dining room window, which is gorgeous and worth getting up early to catch the tail end of sunrise from. This is an inn that serves breakfast, rather than a traditional B&B IMHO so the atmosphere is more detached and reserved. The owners do not live on site and we didn’t see much of them. The girl who serves breakfast and cleans is very friendly and helpful however.

My first experience at a B&B. My son and girlfriend brought me here for Mothers’s Day 2015. Service = awesome. Rooms = clean and inviting. Breakfast = my plate was so perfect, I didn’t want to eat it… Yum! I would definitely return!

Frankly if you don’t want to be in the heart of the city this is the place for you. A 20min stroll through amazing Beacon Hill park to Downtown or if you want some great eats just a few blocks up Cook St and a great beach walk just across the street. Micheal, David and Cora are incredible hosts. I see most other Unilocalers rave about the breakfast, well just add me to the list. It’s a great way to start your day. For those of you that have never stayed in a B&B I would say The Dashwood Manor would be the place to broaden your horizons.

From the moment we made our reservation to when we left, this was an exceptional place. Our hosts where friendly and very informative. Check in was incredibly easy, a quick hello and questions answered then we were taken to our room. HUGE room! extremely comfortable king bed fitted with the softest sheets. And the sheets actually fit the bed… crazy I know, but we’ve all been to a hotel the the sheets don’t fit the mattress… the room. bright and beautifully furnished with just the right touches. a nice hot water pot with tea and instant coffee, a small refrigerator. The bath was a nice size and again the towels were soft. Our room looked out onto the park and a slight view of the water. Breakfast was incredible, the room was bright and intimate. the guests breakfast arrival is scheduled when you check in as not to create a rush or over crowding. While we looked at the menu coffee and a sweet bite was brought to us. Rich strong coffee is the perfect start to my favorite meal. I highly recommend the omelet flavorful, tender and just the right size.
We can’t wait to return to this gem of a B&B!

I stayed here with my hubby for a couple of nights this summer after a recommendation from someone who lived in Victoria. We weren’t disappointed! The best thing about it is the location — on one side of the street is the beach where you can walk in either direction for miles and miles and on the other side is a Beacon Hill park. Not far from downtown, about a 5 min drive. You can probably walk to downtown in 15 – 20 min. The owners who recently acquired the place, David and Michael, are super nice and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, especially the bacon (and I usually skip on the bacon, but this was too yummy too pass)! The room was spacious and clean and even had a refrigerator, which we liked. The only quirk we had was the shower in our particular room — the water would go from really hot to really cold out of the blue, but I have informed the hosts of this problem and they said it should be fixed soon. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Dashwood Manor and absolutely loved it. Dave is a wonderful host – friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
The location can’t be beat. Across from the water, next to a beautiful park and within walking distance to downtown. Plus, the local coffee shops and restaurants are great!
The manor itself is lovely… we stayed in the Somerset room which has a balcony and one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. The inn seemed fairly full while we were there, but never heard any of the other guests – it felt like we had it to ourselves.
Highly recommend this inn!
