The chai latte and Café misto were perfect here and the best I’ve had in a long time. Wish this was in the Los Angeles area! Is it?

I had a really good coffee misto here, and a baked loaf of some sort. Fast and friendly, clean and nicely decorated. Loved the books on the shelves for perusing. Hubs said his americano wasn’t good though!

Nice clean place to relax on lunch and grab a coffee and a light meal. All their food looked fresh. Had a ham and cheese Bengal that they made. Good price not expensive and the staff was nice. Clean and relaxing

Had a nice experience here, my bf and I wanted a small snack and beverage so we shared the thai cold noodles and italian soda. The noodles were good and priced fair. As we were about to leave we were offered some chocolate muffins, free of charge! He said they arent that sweet so im assuming they might have messed up a batch or something, but even so, they were really good. Perfect sweetness actually. So even a small gesture like that has made this café a memorable one for me.

Next to the Victoria convention center this café was just what I needed after an afternoon of wondering the streets of Victoria. Liberty Café and Deli has a friendly staff with a nice selection of food, drinks, ice cream, books and games!(5 stars for the service) I had a macchiato and some granola. Macchiato was solid, nothing special. Not sure what coffee they use, but it’s average and typical for a café that is not coffee focused. Well prepared, served on a 3oz bodum cup. They didn’t have the drink on the menu, I was charged $ 2 which easily should have been $ 3. Milk had a nice texture and made up for the lack of taste notes I look for in a well roasted espresso.

Mediocre coffee(bitter; I bet you $ 50 they don’t adjust the grind every day). Nice space but the music was a mismatch to the atmosphere. Food is expensive. Overall a nice place to sit but otherwise skip in favor of Mirage Café on Government.

Decent. Super close to bus terminal, but that’s about the only benefit. You can find better food, drink and prices elsewhere I’m sure, whichever you are looking for.

Great little place to grab a muffin and tea before getting on the Ferry to Vancouver! Outdoor seating always a plus.

Tired of envying the privileged sipping afternoon tea with their pinkies up at the Empress Hotel? When will we start the revolution to overcome the oppression of the insufferably wealthy who throw the crumbs of their scones at us? OK, maybe next year. In the meantime, you can set a spell at Liberty Café just a stone’s throw away from the old Empress. It’s actually right next to the Victoria Conference Centre, so it must be a magnet for Shriners and engineers with big pocket protectors. It’s a clean modern space that offers the standard selection of coffee, juices, and deli sandwiches. Jamie W. and I had time to kill before our ferry back to the mainland, so we managed some people-watching at an outside table as I nursed a C$ 4.95 Peach Perfection Smoothie. I don’t know about perfect, and it was a tad pricey. But there was no doubt that it hit the spot before our seafaring journey. It’s a decent alternative to the finger sandwiches and strawberry tarts at the Empress. Alas, our time will come… we shall overcome. SMOOTHIE — 3 stars… kinda on the sweet side and expensive AMBIANCE — 4 stars… a nice space to take a break SERVICE — 3 stars… adequate describes it TOTAL — 3 stars… non-snobs need to wet their whistles, too
