Pacific Design Academy

History

Established in 1991.

The Pacific Design Academy was founded in 1991, by Maureen Drew, as an interior design school. Over the years the school has grown and added program in Building Technology, Graphic Design, Fashion Design and Landscape Design.

The schools focus has always been to provide practical and affordable education in the design arts. With that aim in mind we hire instructors with working knowledge of their industry and partner with local businesses to provide our students with the skills to launch a career in design.

Returned to Victoria in 2005 to take the helm of the Pacific Design Academy and to settle down and start a family.

I’m blessed to work with some amazingly talented and very nice people at PDA. In my duties I get to meet many local designers and fellow business owners. I’m always looking for better ways to serve our students, serve our community and partner with local companies.

Education is a fulfilling but incredibly difficult industry to work in. Helping people better their lives through education and finding paid work after graduation is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
