Victoria Academy of Ballet (formerly Island Dance Studio) was established in 1990 by Christine Richardson F.C.S.C — C.I.C.B., ARAD. Now under the ownership and direction of Bleiddyn Del Villar Bellis, FCSC– CICB, The Victoria Academy of Ballet offers specialized dance instruction for children ages 3 through to Professional level.
The Faculty of Victoria Academy of Ballet offers the highest caliber of professional instruction in dance training and performance. All faculty are highly experienced qualified teachers who have a passion for dance and for training students of all ages and ability to their fullest potential.
The Foundational Program provides once per week classes for children, youth, teens and adults. All ages and abilities are welcome.
The General Program offers classes in ballet, jazz and contemporary to children and youth wanting to attend VAB multiple times per week.
The Professional Training Program, provide serious school aged students with a unique opportunity to train in an intensive environment. Acceptance into the Professional Training Program is by audition only.
The Bridge Professional Training Program in Classical Ballet (Diploma) is a 2-year Post-Secondary Career Training Program leading to a Diploma in Classical Ballet and is accredited with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) part of the BC Ministry of Advanced Education. Only students who have met all admission requirements are eligible for enrollment in this program.

Now under the ownership and direction of Bleiddyn Del Villar Bellis, FCSC– CICB, The Victoria Academy of Ballet offers specialized dance instruction for children ages 3 through to Professional level.
In September 2014, The Victoria Academy of Ballet moved into new premises in downtown Victoria BC. The studios are located in the in the city centre, conveniently located for easy bus transportation, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. Inside the building are two fully equipped dance studios for use by the students of the school.

Bleiddyn Del Villar Bellis.
Business Owner
Ms Bellis is a Fellow and Examiner with the Cecchetti Society of Canada, holds diplomas in Applied Anatomy, and has been awarded the Certificate in Dance Education by the ISTD. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with many awards and scholarship including the Margaret Saul Scholarship by The Cecchetti Society of Canada for her completion of the prestigious Enrico Cecchetti Final Diploma in London England.
As Artistic Director at the Victoria Academy of Ballet she has developed both the Professional Training Program and the Post Secondary Bridge Program. Her students are continually recognized for their outstanding technique and artistry, winning many awards and honors in competitions and examinations.
