Choosing a bar at Wasaga is sort’ve like having to eat at the airport where the options are few, the quality is suspect, and the prices are astronomical. Nothing exemplifies that more than this shithole on the strip. In a case of mistaken identity I was singled out and escorted off the premise by some overzealous douche… weird. I’m reluctant to call him a bouncer because Ma could prolly take’em in an arm wrestle. The douche escort was overkill as I just about had my fill of teeney bopper hell by that point and was about to leave anyway, all they had to do was ask and I would’ve happily complied — no explanation necessary this place sucks donkey balls! Avoid at all costs, like seriously.

I’m writing this review from a slightly different standpoint… My wife and I visited the Dard(for our first time, I might add) for lunch, not for the nightlife. We shared the nachos, which were more than enough. They were better than average, the beer was cold, and the patio was the place to be on this hot Saturday. No complaints from this kid! I’ll be back!

Well folks it had to happen at some point or another. A 1 star review. I am one unhappy camper and I feel that the experience I had this past weekend shall has ruined this place that I once loved… for good. I have been venturing up to Wasaga Beach for close to 10 years, and have been partying at «The Dard» for almost as long. Between their faulty promotion and their extremely rude doormen I refuse to return and will strongly advise the rest of you to do the same(and I have YET to say this in all of my near 80 reviews). This is not a personal thing so I will just lay out the facts in a numbered fashion below to keep personal feelings out of the way. — Dard promo staff walked into our cottage backyard and handed out promo cards to our group which would allow us to have 1 free admission and a complimentary shot upon entry — Showing up at the door that night, we were told the promotion was only for Thursday’s and Sunday’s. Despite other people we spoke to later that evening telling us they HAD been able to use the same cards for the deal. — Doorman was over the top rude and borderline violent for no apparent reason. We were a sober group of 20 guys coming in for our first drinks of the night who would have potentially spent money in the establishment. This doormans actions drove us away rapidly — Looking past all the above(if you can) this place was empty at 11:30pm on a Saturday night. There was a time when The Dard was the place to be in Wasaga beach, and I would look forward to going here specifically. I don’t take things personally but I think it has lost its lustre and something new needs to come in and take its place. Time to let this place go the way of the DoDo(DardDard) Bird.

I am shocked The Dardanella(or ‘Dards’ as everyone affectionately refers to it) hasn’t been reviewed yet, between this and Bananas these are the only two options for night life in Wasaga Beach, and what a night life it is! We’ve been coming to Wasaga the second weekend in July for a volleyball tournament for years now and Dards always hosts the after party. They have two dance floors, one inside, one outside, great beats, tons of seating on the patio and heat lamps for those slightly cooler nights. It’s right on the strip and a perfect place to grab a pint and watch the sun go down and shake a tail feather into the early hours of the night. I ALWAYS have one of the best nights of the summer at this bar. Beware though…$ 23 pitchers with only Canadian and Coors Light as your options doesn’t make this a cheap evening. The food is your standard pub far. Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. Anyway Dards throws one hell of a party. Check it out!
