Went on a Monday for their wing deal. Food was fast, service was good, and wings were delicious!

I don’t understand why people hype up the wings here. They are seriously suspiciously HUGE. The batter is too thick and they just splash the sauce on afterwards. The batter is not crispy and the wing is too meaty. Because of its unbelievably abnormally gigantic size the center is always bland. Nothing special about the wings at all.
If you want good wings. Mind blowing wings. The perfect size wings. The crispy and thin on the outside and tender on the inside wings. The wings that make you lick your fingers and dream about them at night. The wings that make you convert. The wings that make you forget about wings at all other places. You must try the wings at the Asian grocery store on univeristy and Lester. They have a eatery in store and their wings and out of this world. They have four classic flavors and every one of them is a must try. No fancy sauce on top because the texture and simple salt and pepper is more than enough to beat the artificial sauce that mortys drown their wings in. Seriously, if you are serious about wings. Go there. You will only regret not going any sooner.

Anyways, Morty’s service is so so and other stuff on their menu is so so. So whatever. Plus, they make you order a drink with their specials on wing night and charge you for takeout containers. What the actual fck?!

The wings are alright, but the service just kills it for me. The servers are mediocre at best, though the owner is quite nice. Price is really good on Monday & Thursdays, only 89 cents each for a wing with the purchase of a beverage. It’s super busy on wing nights though, so you should expect to wait for a long time.
I would recommend the suicide flavoured wings. I also had the burger special once and it tasted pretty bad.

When you think about weeknights in College/​University you think of a few things, pubs and pub with your friends, maybe watching sports, playing some poker, and if your ambitious, maybe tossing back a few pitchers (or a few too many pitchers) of beer and then negotiating with your god the next morning about giving you the strength to get up for class that day. I’m definitely «not» speaking from experience here…
Morty’s was an institution before I came to Waterloo, as legend of their massive wings reached my ears only a few hours after arriving on campus in September 2004 — «Have you heard of Morty’s yet?»
I cannot count the number of nights I spent here, mostly cheap wing nights (Thursday’s) with roommates and even a few «meetings» for class where wings and beer flowed endlessly all night long and sore stomachs and food comas soon followed.
Morty’s has a back split location with a main entrance area (terrible to sit in during the colder months) an upstairs area that surrounds a long bar, and a basement area which could be booked out for parties (such as my surprise 21^st birthday, thanks to the planning prowess of my visiting parents and girlfriend of that time). There doesn’t seem to be a shortage of seating except on wing nights, then you’re lucky to get 2 seats on the bar.
I’ve had other Morty’s items such as: Panzos, pizza, burgers, etc, but nothing compares to the wings, nothing. They’re the one thing I want when visiting Waterloo, and one of my fondest memories from University.

Back when i was in Waterloo for school, i LOVED their half price wing nights! Their chicken wings are MASSIVE and i always get honey garlic. Those were the days where students benefitted from those nights and they had a few TVs on to watch the games that were on for the night.

Great service — the staff are always super friendly and very attentive. The food is great and well priced, highly recommend it!

I had to wait 20 minutes for a table late on a Monday night. I was able to get a drink at the bar which made the wait bare-​able. I had the spicy butter wings which was huge but too much sauce. Non the less, very tasty.
The service wasn’t bad as other reviews say but I’m guessing it’s because the rush was finally gone as I was seated.

Simply three words: Thursday Night Wings. The wings are crispy battered. So watch out Keto dieters. The dry Cajun seasonings is the bomb. Less messy more flavor. Their collection on the tap not bad either. Plus one for the eye candy, extra nice waiters

Best wings I’ve had in Waterloo so far. On Mondays and Thursdays, they are 89cents each with a purchase of a drink. A bit more expensive then other places, but the size each wing makes up for it. A service is only average though, as I’ve had a few times where it took a long time to get someone to take our order. Like other people mentioned, takeout is $ 1.
Would recommend the sweet chili flavor. My personal favorite.

After McGinnis shut down, this seemed like the only reasonably priced sports bar near the universities. The speed of food preparation has picked up a bit and the service has definitely gotten better, though sometimes food still takes 15+ min to arrive. The Monday & Thurs Wings nights are great deals and do get busy. I still feel like the basement level is pretty old and needing an improvement, though luckily haven’t ever had to sit there yet. Great atmosphere overall to watch a game or have a drink with friends. For a larger beer selection though, check out Kickoff in the Waterloo plaza.

A Must-​Eat for wing lovers, especially on Mondays and Thursdays. If that’s your plan I would recommend going EARLY, as it fills up fast. Also, I would recommend dry Cajun, even if you’re used to saucy wings.

Went again and the service was good this time. Didn’t see the waitress from last time (thankfully). Wings were good as ever.

Wing night is a great night to visit Morty’s. Make sure you go early, because otherwise you’ll have to wait quite a while for a seat. Parking is nearly non-​existent, so your best bet is to walk/​bus or try street parking.
The wings are large. There are several different flavours of wings, but I’m always left wishing they had some interesting flavours to keep it different everytime I vist. I recommend that you mix up wet and dry wings, because if you have 15 wet wings, you will feel disgusting afterwards! Wings with sauce will have lots of sauce.
Take-​out containers cost $ 1 each.

It’s smaller than it looks, and nearly always crowded. I was told that the wings were epically huge but they looked just standard sized to me. Reasonably cheap at 69 cents, washed down with some decent beer. Hard to go wrong. Great atmosphere and vibe to hang out in with some friends. Service was ok, nothing special. I don’t think I would make a special trip just to eat here though.

Best wings in waterloo. Be sure that your friends are present when you go line up, otherwise they won’t put you in the list.

If you’re in Waterloo, this is a MUST TRY place!
Their wings are one of the best available in Waterloo, their burgers (specials on Sundays) are amazing as well, and surprisingly, even their pizza and panzo are very rich and tasty too! (It doesn’t dry up after a day in the fridge!)
Bar selection is pretty standard and generic, but overall, a good night is pretty much guaranteed.
Not even paid to say this, but — one of my favourite places in Waterloo.

As a sports pub, I expected a better beer selection, but the wings here are top notch. The atmosphere is very good with lots of tvs with seemingly every game on. The beer selection was a bit lacking with few craft beers and mostly garden variety lagers. The prices are good though, what you would expect in a college town. The wings are also apparently what they are famous for and the hot wings we tried were delicious. We tried to go back the next day, but as it was wing night, it was too packed to get a table.

I have been going to Morty’s since I was a little girl — when Morty actually ran the place and it was a little hole in the wall! You can’t go wrong when you’re here, this place is amazing.
Everyone days the wings are good, and they are by far the best I have ever had, but the panzerotti is soooo good. The sauce is outstanding! If you’re in the area and have never been, it’s a must. If you’re not in the area, it’s still a must. Morty’s is an institution!!!

Their chickens would definitely be disqualified from the Olympics for steroids. The thing was the size of Ben Johnson’s head.
When I saw the price tag of over $ 10 for 6 wings with no sides, I thought these better be the best dang wings or biggest ones I’ve ever had… and well. they found some kind of monster chickens.
I mean, I wouldn’t want to run into this thing in a dark alley. And the only one who’d be chicken is me. Bok bok!
These things were darn tasty too and amazingly crispy.
The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was because I hated the fries. Super soggy and greasy and just blah. but you’re there for the wings! Also its an additional charge for veggies.
Place has tv’s all over, so you’re not going to miss a beat on whatever sports coverage you’re watching.
Anyways. I still can’t imagine how big this chicken would be. It’d be some kind of horror movie.
