The staff here is really sweet! Unfortunately, so is the tea. Too sweet. I ordered an earl grey milk tea with boba. It tasted like the powder stuff, with no distinct earl grey flavor. I actually really disliked my drink, but since the place is cute and it looked like a fun place to hang out like the other reviews said, I can see why people would come here.

I ADORE this shop. Very hip, photogenic, and an amazing atmosphere. Great place to hangout with friends. Their bubble tea is the absolute best in town and I can’t have it anywhere else after having it here.

I am not a bubble tea connesour so can’t comment there. I usually go for a cup of freshly brewed cup of sencha green tea with macaroons. These I vouch for having excellent quality.
As other reviewers have mentioned, there service staff is consistently welcoming and helpful.
On some occasions I have found the music to be too loud but generally the volume is in a comfortable range.
They also offer board games and you can almost always see groups of friends enjoying these. If you are into board games coming here instead of a dedicated board games café can prove to be higher value as you can get to play with the purchase of a coffee or a tea and no entrance fee. Hope you guys find this life hacking tip useful :)
Great plus is that they are open late into the night! If you are looking for a cozy little café that serves a great cup of sencha, macaroons and board games in KW you should give this place a try.

My absolute favourite place in Waterloo! I have been here more than 10 times already and each time I am so happy to just grab a bubble tea and chill with friends/​study/​read a book, etc. I love the interior of this shop. It’s super cozy and warm and there are like nice fairy lights which make this place so much more beautiful. And you can actually play boardgames here for free. So fun right? The bubble tea has many flavours to choose from. I love the premium ones which are like the same price as the usual ones. My favourite cold drink is 50 shades of Earl Grey and my favourite hot drink is we love you oolong time. Tapiocas are added to your drink with 50 cents extra. I don’t really fancy tapioca but if you are a fan, you should definitely add them in!

A convenient place to come hang out and chill. Haven’t been there in a while because I believe there are other places that are better for lower /​same prices in Waterloo. It’s a pretty small place and sometimes it is too packed to sit down, unless you come on off hours.
The bubble tea is average, not as tasty or fresh tasting as other bubble tea places. Sometimes it takes them very long to bring out the bubble tea even when the place is not that busy. They have a large variety of jelly’s which is hard to find at a lot of places! And a large menu, which sometimes stumps me because there are too many choices haha.
Then environment is cozy though, you can come and place boardgames which is nice to have! They have a lot of boardgames as well. They even serve food, which is a bonus! I haven’t tried it but I’m hoping to come by one time for Bubble tea and food.

Although the bubble tea itself is very decent, the service is astoundingly slow. I walked in with no one in front of me and waited 20 minutes for mine. It’s as if I’ve ordered a steak dinner. The atmosphere is nice if you have a massive amount of time to spare.

Sweet Dreams has a cozy feel to it and board games if you want to hang out with friends. It’s pretty popular since it’s so close to the university.
The quality of their food and drinks is consistently great and generally the price is fair. They have a special in case you ever don’t feel like choosing a flavour.
The only bad part is that food can sometimes take a very long time (i.e. 30+ minutes for a banh mi or panini). So if you’re in a rush and you see other people waiting, it may not be the best option.
The staff that work here are always happy and welcoming. If you ever need suggestions for what drink to choose, they can offer something that suits your preferences.
Although I’ve never personally been to any, Sweet Dreams often advertises and hosts different social events such as open mic and networking events.
Overall, Sweet Dreams is a go-​to place if you’re looking for some good quality food and drinks.

My new found favourite bubble tea shop! The café is definitely designed with students in mind, with its cozy and homely interior coupled with power points readily available which makes this place a good place for studying or just hanging out with friends. You can choose hot, cold or icy for your bubble tea which is something quite unique and cool especially if you like to switch up the texture of your drinks once in while.

love this place but always busy and loud. I always get just get things to go. their udon soup is like nothing I’ve ever had, it’s so delicious. all the staff is friendly except for one who is very rude, urging people who don’t buy anything to leave whereas everyone else and even the manager don’t mind at all if you’re just around to study or need somewhere to eat lunch. I’ve never once had a problem with any of the staff except for this one girl, I’m a loyal customer and it irks me how insistent she is about kicking people out.
*update: the last two times I’ve gotten the udon soup it didn’t taste very good and the egg, usually whole, is gnarled up and in several pieces. I guess this place is a hit or miss

Sweet Dreams will always be my go-​to place for a sweet, delicious icy swirl. My favourite is the honeymelon icy swirl with lychee jelly — yum! The ambience and board games at Sweet Dreams makes the place extra cosy :) I did have a bad experience recently however — I noticed quite a few black specs in my icy swirl last time I was there (not sure what it was — look like small bits of black paper). I simply picked out all the bits rather than complained about it.

Great atmosphere to go a relax in between classes. Friendly staff!

They recently increased their price :(Their original price wasn’t even cheap. Now I prefer going to chatime more even though it’s more walkint. Taste wise I like the sesame and malt… lol I know, unconvensional flavours. Make sure to ask for a membership card if you plan to come here frequently: 10 stamps = 1 drink any size

Very fun place, with lots of bubble tea

I really enjoy Sweet Dreams :) Their bubble tea really hits the spot after a long day of classes or after an exam. And their hot bubble tea is really good for the winter. I can never decide what to order, so I usually get the weekly special, which lets you buy the flavor in a large size for the price of a small. Their desserts are also yummy, but it’s a bit overpriced.
The ambiance there is nice. Kind of cramped and loud when there are too many people there. There are a lot of board games there to keep you occupied & so you’re not pressured to keep a consistent conversation with whoever you came with: P

Alright place if you just want some bubble tea. Not up to par as other places like Chatime; however, location is more convenient if you are a UW student.
Like others mentioned, they also have board games which is always great.

I really love to hangout with friends at this place, it contains all my memories since day one. It is probably the cosiest place that is closest to the campus. All drinks I have tried so far are amazing, will definitely go back as many times as I could!

My friend recommended this place, so my expectations were on the high side. I was expecting a Taiwanese style bubble tea shop, but it’s more like a fusion shop. The interior design is reminiscent of NYC late 90’s SOHO, aka casual hipster, with a touch of grunge. Real flowers in tiny salt shakers at every table. Nice touch. Board games in the corner, check. Various tea paraphernalia in the other corner at 50% off, check.
Order the specialty teas that aren’t made from powder. I thought this was the first negative point for me. Powdered bubble tea drinks are so passé and gross, it’s not even funny anymore. It really shouldn’t be on the menu at all for any self-​respecting bubble tea shop. However, the tapioca boba were done well.
I also ordered the udon. It was a bit of a miss for me. They used chinese instant udon, so the noodles were oversaturated and broke easily. I prefer the frozen japanese or korean udon that have more texture and consistency. The soup base wasn’t interesting, and the random floating pieces of meat were uninspiring. The bowl and plate looked great, but the food wasn’t that special. For the price, it’s ok, I guess, but it’s not something I would come back for. It would have been more interesting if they did a vietnamese spin on the udon, and used a phở soup base, fresh basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, and some spice for a kick.
I wanted to like this place. I think it’s a good place to hangout with friends and kill time. There are electric outlets below the benches. I just wish the food was better, more enticing. Perhaps I just ordered poorly this time.

The drinks here are great however they definitely aren’t worth the price. But it is a nice place to visit once in a while with friends to have a chat and try a different bubble tea and play some board games!
I wouldn’t recommend ordering their food as it’s pretty mediocore and the food menu is small. Ordered the ramen noodles for $ 6.50 and am pretty positive they are Nong Shim brand pre-​packaged instant noodles that you can purchase at any major grocery store for less than $ 1.

I was expecting too much, I’ll admit it but even if I wasn’t I would still give it a meh. The ambiance and décor is really cute and the board games you can play with friends is really friendly!
However, I went for the bubble tea and I got a pomegranate flavoring with lychee gelly, ummm no idea what they actually served me it tasted like fruit punch! The gelly was nice and different, I do think that more bubble tea places should offer different flavors! But in the end, I will never go back, which is a shame but after the expensive bubble tea and lack of remembering my order, can you really blame me?

It’s not as cheap as China town, but that’s because their bubble tea is SO GOOD.
They have plenty of flavours to choose from, both milk and non-​milk, and their Hong Kong style is one of the best, in my opinion.
The interior is also very nicely decorated and has a hipster feel to it, not to mention they have board games and Jenga.
I also like how each person gets a letter and they bring your bubble tea to you.
My only concern is that there is only one outlet with 2 sockets if you want to charge your laptop, and I’ve experienced iffy service from a few employees, but most of them are extremely nice!
