Taris On the Water

I had an amazing first time here! The food was amazing and the chefs effort and care for the restaurant really showed through the plates we were served! The décor and atmosphere is beautiful with wonderful lighting! The patio is also beautiful and lovely to sit on! The only bad thing I can say is the cocktails we ordered were terrible that day but I believe it to be because the girl making them wasn’t a real bartender or maybe didn’t know how to make certain drinks. They took them off our bill and made it right! I am certain this was an off day for them because I have heard good things about their drink menu! I will be going back soon! Over all great tasting food, quick and friendly service and beautiful atmosphere!

We were very pleased to find this place, which is a step up in quality and ambience from our (limited) dining experiences in Welland so far. The owners and staff are friendly and the menu good, with a decent wine list. Service on our two lunch visits has been a tad on the slow side, but worth waiting for. My only criticism is that on both occasions the shoestring fries were overcooked and crunchy.
Both visits were mid week in bad weather, but the restaurant was quite busy, so word must be getting out.

Well, the place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The owner had a vision for this hole in the wall and my god did he live up to it. The spot sits beautifully and as soon as you walk in you feel important. The staff and environment is amazing and is definitely a one of a kind experience especially if you’re on the patio enjoying the light up bridge and calm waterways. The food itself is fantastic and made up of the best ingredients. If you want to spend a little dough and have a dining experience you WILL NOT find in Welland then this is the go to.

Love this place:) Prices are great for quality received. Great atmosphere and menu. Welland needed this! Patio is wonderful and they also have a very nice private dining room in the basement for small functions.

My boyfriend and I arrived for dinner and were blown away by how beautiful the restaurant was. They had been renovating for some time and it seemed like it was never going to open. Well it was definitely worth the wait!
We started off with cocktails and were impressed with the variety and choices. The drink menu isn’t like anything else in Welland or even in the Niagara area, it was a nice change. And they serve great beer like Innis & Gunn and Blanche de Chambly, my two favourites! We split the mussels and the Niagara Sharing Plate which we LOVED. Everything was local, the meats were Pingue and the cheeses came from Upper Canada Cheese. We then had the Duck Confit and the Chicken Supreme and they were delicious and perfectly cooked. We then shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding and that was just over the top delicious.
I will definitely recommend to friends and will be back!
Taris on the Water has taken the nicest location in Welland and done something special with it. The space has been renovated beautifully and will only get better once the patio opens.
