Put a bullet in this place! It’s been sometime since I’ve visited West Van. For a quick breakfast I thought the old Bread Garden at Park Royal would be a quick and easy choice. What a mistake… Save your money and save you patience for somewhere else. I could get into the details of my dissatisfaction, but take my word for it and seek out a better food experience. If the grumbling in my stomach turns to vomit, I’ll update my post. As a member of a successful restaurant family, I encourage you to go support better, more caring, independent establishments. Ciao!

One of those places I actually sit down at, and do not run out the door after paying for my coffee. On the north end of Park Royal, with no competition in site, and also close to the London Drugs, it’s actually a comfortable place to drink, and eat. On sunny days, you can sit out on their small patio, and if the outdoors thing isn’t your thing, you can go on the inside and enjoy the easy music played in here. If you have ever been to a bread garden, the food selection is pretty vast, with pastas, sandwichs, soups, salads, etc, you might have to really take your time before you get to the check out, as all of the food is presented right in front of you. If you just do not have time to get yourself to the south side(the village side) of the mall, then just stay here and chill out. Oh yeah, forgot to say, they have free Wi-Fi, so bring along the laptop too!

Every morning when I get to work I always feel that my day will not start right without a coffee in hand upon entering work. I work on the North side of Park Royal mall… without the Starbucks… and I am WAY to lazy to get over to the South side… so I have become reliant on Bread Garden. It is actually quite busy at 7am with more then likely fellow mall employees and moms getting together after dropping the kids off at school. The coffee is pretty good. but what will always get me is the delicious smell of cinnamon buns in the morning… who can friggin’ resist that gooey sticky deliciousness? I would also recommend then for a good lunch. I love grilled salmon sandwich with a nice fresh salad. mush better then the food court across the way.
