We were looking for a breakfast/brunch place in West Van and came across Cindy’s. Never knew it existed but apparently has been around for a while. Nice small restaurant. Food portions were decent and we heard everything is made fresh in house which is a plus! Enjoyed our meal and if we find ourselves in West Van for brunch again, we would consider another visit.

Good choice for brunch. The Caprese Bennie(Benedict) and the quiche were both very good. Not many fries with the Bennie but that’s OK since fries aren’t all that good for you anyway. Two small outside tables(we got one of them). No sign of the Dragon Lady mentioned in a nearby one-star review. As for the acid test: we’ll return.

Average quality food but great service, just pricey for the extras(egg whites, free range eggs, etc.).

This place makes good eggs Benedict. However, there is a woman there who is uncompassionate, useless and just plain rude. My husband is very seriously ill. He likes the eggs Benny. Three weekends ago, our family of eight decided to have Sunday brunch here so that the kids(coming from Coquitlam and Richmond) could see Dad. We knew they did not take reservations per se. We asked if this could be done for the special occasion and were told yes if we called half an hour beforehand. The day before, we called to check that this was still OK and were told, «No problem.» On the actual day, we called half an hour before and were assured all would be well. I said that my husband could not stand for long. We all show up and this dreadful woman starts ranting and saying they don’t take reservations. We calmly explained the situation and she said, «Well we don’t take reservations, so I’m sorry but we can’t do it» in the most HEARTLESS way imaginable. Then, she starts going on and on about how the guy/s in the kitchen don’t communicate with them, moan, moan, blah blah blah. Not one ounce of caring about us. Fast forward to today and my husband and I are driving home from the hospital and he decides he would love eggs on toast(chemo can do that to you). We pull up outside of Cindy’s, prepared to give them another chance. I check and see that the«Open» sign is lit up, which it is. I spend a couple of minutes helping my husband out of the car, get into the restaurant, and the same evil person shouts from the back, «We’re closed!» Anyone can see my guy isn’t feeling too well and has to sit down and she doesn’t give two hoots. This woman should be fired on the spot for her complete inability to a) cope with her job, and b) show an ounce of compassion for customers. Sorry Cindy’s, but you have blown it for us. I sincerely hope this horrible older woman you employ never has to suffer what we are currently going through and that, if she does, that someone in a restaurant is kind to her.

Well this was a good diner. Food was as a good diner should be. Service was good. Staple type breakfasts with several creative fun dishes. This is the kind of meal HungerMan likes to start his day off right.

This is my favourite breakfast stop and, like all good things, is within a few blocks of my place. This is important as it is quite small and quite busy so I can easily just pop my head in to see how the line is doing before committing to breakfast. I imagine if one didn’t live close, Cindy’s could be frustrating to get into. So bear that in mind. It’s small. It’s popular. One thing works in my favour that may not work in yours if you’re planning to visit — I have midweek days off. This is a small breakfast joint that closes very early so you can imagine how busy it is on weekend. I manage to sidestep that due to my strange schedule, settling in usually on a Thursday after the morning work rush — 10 – 11 a.m. is a great time. Bustling but usually a table or two open. So it’s small and it’s popular — bear that in mind when scheduling your visit. Ignoring the fact I do not face the usual seating problem other patrons do, I could not, in good faith, rate higher than 4 stars for the simple fact I only know one item on their menu. I have not even looked at other items. I have no interest in their other offerings. All I want is my Caprese Egg’s Benedict. If I’m feeling crazy I’ll sample the Benedicts of others at my table(as, yes, I damn near strong arm people with me into ordering Bennies) but I’m set in my ways. Caprese Benedict or bust. Their Bennies I have pretty down pat — The crab is a crab EXPLOSION — a pile of meat so high you forget what you’ve even ordered under all of that. The wild mushroom is very savoury and, when I’ve forced that upon my mother by adding ham to the order, an absolute knockout. But that caprese is something else. The lightest, butteriest coating of pesto, thick tomato, a medium poached egg and the melting bocconcini set beside herbed homestyle potatoes, draped in their smooth hollandaise. I find Benedicts tend to be a bit heavy, and though I love them, the classic flavour weighs me down. Cindy’s nails the Bennie by changing the flavour profile underneath that ‘same old same old’ sauce that ties it all together. I’m not much of a breakfast person so if I’m eating here, I’ve come specifically for it and I don’t plan to change so, really, I have limited knowledge on their actual offerings aha. I have no idea how they do waffles, or pancakes, or sausage. The photos people are posting here look lovely but what is the poinnnt of eating anything beyond Egg’s Benedict for breakfast. The service is great — the little blonde beauty is a highlight of my visit and, while I’m someone easily entertained, I am very particular with customer service having trained it for years. This girl is a gem — smiley, quick, and bursting with good energy. My boyfriend and I rave about her every time. I’m unsure if she’s the only waitress, but she’s the only one I’ve seen besides the owner who is a character and a half and cemented us returning to his establishment our first visit a year ago. I also recently went with my mother, who is from out of town, hoping to wow her(which it did) but what bears mentioning here is. my mother is a character. Mentally ill and looks it. Usually she’s treated with a standoffish manner, especially this side of town, and there was none of that here. She actually said she was so excited that another patron smiled at her and said helllo as she passed. This is huge for me and hard to verbalise but it really makes an impact. It’s a great crowd. It’s a friendly place with good food and, if you duck the crowds, extremely relaxing.

Very tasty and friendly little local spot. Plenty of gluten free options and a lovely staff to boot. Perfect for a stop en route to the mountains! Highly recommend. Prices aren’t necessarily cheap but the quality is high.

Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Lovely Eggs Benedict variations, and they’ll even make them carb-free for you on request. Try the Crab Benny; delicious. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. I love this place.

I really like this place for brunch, super cute atmosphere! you really feel like you are having a home-cooked meal. The only problem is that it’s a little too small and on the weekends there tend to be a a bit of a wait to get a table. I would also advise the servers to attend to customers more frequently. The last time I was there, the waiter neglected seating us for a long time or even acknowledging we were waiting there.

haven’t tried this yet, but heard they’re known for their perogies — home-made, fresh, & Russian-operated, so quite authentic ;) Nicer, simple, brown décor, dinner atmosphere. apparently their brunch on weekends is popular too. Maybe then I’ll upgrade this ;) free parking in the front.

Don’t miss out on this place… the food is so delicious. The Eggs Benedict are simply divine, the stacked fruit waffle is phenomenal(with fresh fruit… mmmm, so good). They use organic, quality food and the Hollandaise sauce is made from scratch, the BESTEVER!!! Cindy’s is a small but bustling café in the heart of West Vancouver, it’s worth the drive, you will not be disappointed. I ate there yesterday and will be going back tomorrow. I would rather pay more for a delicious meal at Cindy’s than pay less(not much less) and be served a plate of garbage from one of the«chain» restaurants. The new owners, since August 2012 are really attenuated to the needs of their customers. I give this place 10 out of 10, hands down!!!

Decent fare, friendly atmosphere, the locals love it, the service universally slow, but that doesn’t seem to bother the patrons much, because this place has been around for years. A tad on the pricey side, too, for what you get. The Mushroom Benny was superb!
