I selected this restaurant because it had very high review I Unilocal but soon I learned this was one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. I ordered a vegetarian dish since I am a vegan. This was the only vegetarian dish on the menu. Half way after eating the food I found two pieces of chicken in the dish. The dish was basically stir fried vegetables with no sauce. I had to add soy sauce to give it some taste.

Family stop on the way to Whistler, incredibly fresh chinese food. Very tender beef, able to accommodate the eating needs of small kids with a healthy meal. Spring rolls prepared in minutes and those potstickers were worth writing home for everyday. We’ll be back.

Excellent food and warm, friendly service. Hoisin eggplant and Honey glazed beef were flavorful and well-prepared without an overabundance of grease. Will definitely return! However, maybe a good idea to call ahead and reserve as they were quite busy.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the North Shore, bar none! Their lunch specials are just delicious. I particularly like their Ginger beef and Kung Pao pranws. This is not your average Chinese restaurant. It is run by a family and their customer service is outstanding! If you are in the North Shore looking for Chinese food this is the place to go!

My favorite friday night delight is to go to Ginger and Soy in West Vancouver. I find the staff really friendly and there is usually a table available without reservation. Their spicy green beans are unreal and also the chow mein. If you like beer, they have a great selection of Chinese beers which are excellent.

I must say that after reading reviews of this restaurant that I was excited at the prospect of having a nice Chinese dinner in my Neighbourhood but boy was I disappointed. It was not only over-priced it was not good at all. The Chicken Curry and the General Chicken where so awful I threw them out after a few mouthfuls. The guylan was passable but only as well as the mixed seafood with pea pods. All in all it was a very poor meal and I will certainly never eat there again

Superb Chinese dishes, best on the North Shore or indeed in this area of BC. Superb hot and sour soup, mapu dofu, spicy green beans with beef, Shanghai noodle and many more. The chef, Sing, knows his craft at a high level — major hotel-trained. Good service awaits. Décor is not faux Chinese, but modern. An intimate eatery in a class of its own.

We chose Ginger & Soy based on Unilocal reviews as well as the proximity to where we are staying while visiting Vancouver. The two of us selected entrees from the lunch menu, Kung Pao Shrimp and Cashew Chicken, along with hot and sour soup(included). Our server was very accomodating with my dietary modifications. In fact, the service overall was terrific. The food was well prepared and seasoned just enough to let the flavors of the ingredients shine through. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the chicken was juicy and silky. We felt the prices made it a good value as well. The dinner menu looks great, with lots of interesting selections. I hope we’ll have time to return before we leave town. BTW, there’s a few dedicated parking spaces behind the building for their customers if you don’t find street parking.

Got a recommendation from a friend and tried them out for a take-out dinner. Food was fantastic, really fresh and light. It didn’t have that sort of heavy, sticky taste that Chinese food often seems to have. The restaurant itself is clean and simple — however, on a Saturday night it was packed and picking up takeout was a bit complicated. There were people jammed into the small entrance hallway so it was hard to get to the front(or know whether you were in line or not) and the staff didn’t seem to do a great job of managing people or the lineup. Small complaint though… I’ll be back!

Fantastic, this place deserves the starts it carries. We were a large group of 8 and ordered Peking Duck, BBQ Duck, Beef & Broccoli, General Tso’s chicken, Crab and straw mushroom soup, and a special steamed tilapia. Everything was flavourful and authentic Chinese tasting. I have been to china on numerous times and the food is as close as it gets to real Chinese. If you go here expecting your north americanised Chinese cuisine you will be disappointed. Vancouver in my opinion hosts one of the best varieties of authentic Chinese restaurants and Ginger and Soy fits right in that list. Give them a try and always ask them about their amazing and flavourful specials.

The first thing you notice about this place is the ambiance. Extremely modern, well decorated, naturally lighted considered it is on the side of marine. This restaurant is comfortable, professional and eclectic. The dining room is filled by the aromas accentuated by the wok, which follows the extremely attentive staff. The food is delicious and simple, executed with precision, presented traditionally yet contain no traces of msg and uphold to the highest standard of freshness. This place is a gem, taking modern and professional techniques and introducing them to cultural and traditional dishes. Credible Chinese food, and a hidden gem of West Vancouver.

Simply a great meal. The hot and sour soup was beautifully balanced. The Peking duck was terrific and the presentation of the second course quite unusual. The spiced green beans perfectly cooked and spiced(again balanced). Chicken fried rice straightforward. Service was attentive and quick. Simple, clean décor. Absolutely no complaints. As good as any Chinese restaurant we’ve been to, including Hong Kong and better than most.

Chinese food is Seattle has no comparison compared to Vancouver. Ginger and Soy beats most places in terms of quality and value for home style Chinese seafood offerings. I drive from Seattle to Vancouver a few times per year to visit this little diamond. I’m not a food aficionado by any means, but this place touches my inner food spirit. It’s a small, simple, clean, tastefully decorated family style eatery. The staff are professional and attentive. The food for me is a secret treasure. I typically ask the staff to choose something for me and they never fail to deliver incredible and surprisingly varied tastes. I always choose seafood and their seafood is always delicate, flavorful and amply satisfying. It never fails that I always struggle to eat their seemingly large portions. Last weekend I had the sweet and sour soup, deep fried spicy shrimp and cabbage with fresh soul hot pot style. The staff know to have the chef«Turn down» the hotter flavorings as I’m a weakling for super hot flavorings. The kitchen always deliver on their requests. So for me, what you see is not always what you get. This family owned business offers 5(star) table side service, incredibly fresh seafood selections and a quiet reflective environment. I noticed it was«Family friendly» with full families enjoying the same experience. It’s impossible to find a place like this in Seattle, and I feel strongly that it has some of the best seafood in Vancouver. Parking is pretty easy, reservations are probably a good idea also. Check it out for yourself Seattleites!

This is a very nice, smaller size restaurant in the Ambleside area. It has a very nice interior and very friendly staff. There is lots of choices for those that like both mild or spicy dishes. I have tried a number of great tasting items here such as the Beef and Noodle Stir-Fry, Beef and Broccoli in Black Bean Sauce, Mongolian Pork and the Chicken Wings. Take-out is usually fast too.

I really expected this place to suck but I like it a lot. The service is warm and attentive. The food is well made — I don’t think they use MSG actually. The corn soup is actually what I imagine it should be — swirls of corn and egg in a light cornstarch soup(unlike that canned cream corn they serve at most HK cafes) Good if you are craving Chinese food and in West Vancouver.

The service here is really fast and friendly! They were excellent for squeezing my family in for dinner 15 minutes before they closed.(We did promise we would eat really fast). We got the Canton Pineapple Beef and the Chicken with Mushroom. Both were really good, although a little pricey. The décor & ambience are very nice, not like your typical Chinese joint– more like a modern-fusion restaurant.
