Every Mo’s experience I have has been take out — but I think there’s a reason it seems to do pretty brisk business. It’s simple stuff done pretty well. It’s not going to blow your mind, but if you’re up for a simple diner-y mostly fried meal, you’ll do alright. And the prices aren’t bad at all. I’ve had their clams, their fish and chips, and their fried chicken — I really should make a point of trying the Lebanese stuff they advertise, but every one of the meals I’ve had was sort of an afterthought from being in the area, usually when my friend’s getting lunch for the staff of his shop.

The boy and I stopped in here on a whim since we were in the Chester area looking for some supper. There is not much to see here — just your typical small town mom and pop place. It’s definitely not pretty to look at inside, and actually it was a tad messy in spots(there was a table in the dining room covered in what looked like piles of bills and receipts? I thought this was weird, and not very professional for a business). Also, the women’s washroom smelled so bad of smoke, it was gross. It was like a smoke-break room, not a washroom. Blech. There was NO one else eating there when we got there, nor when we left, so I think that tells you something(although I think Western Shore on a Friday night is pretty dead overall). Our server was really friendly though, and prompt. He indicated that the tartar sauce and coleslaw was homemade, which I thought was smart because it intrigued us. I had scallops and fries, which were pretty good — not the best I’ve had but definitely not the worst either. I was actually expecting more scallops, but they were pretty fresh and a pretty good size. There was too much batter on them for my liking though. The fries were good, but not great(they could have been cooked a bit more to make them more crispy). The homemade tartar sauce was quite tasty — had hints of carrot in it. Could have been a bit thicker, but you could tell it was homemade and fresh, which was nice. You really can’t beat the prices here — about $ 10 for a plate of scallops and fries is very reasonable. The boy had a two piece fish and chips that was about the same price and the pieces were huge! Good value. There were lots of people in and out chatting it up with the owners, so I think it’s the kind of place where the main clientele are local regulars. All in all, it was an ok place to drop in for a quick supper but I have definitely had better. I probably wouldn’t bother going back.
