Great spot for some apps and brewskis.
We came in for some nachos and fried pickles. Both very good but the nachos were definitely a bit pricey at $ 20.
The service was excellent. Fast, courteous and friendly. Our waitress didn’t even bat an eye when I asked to switch my beer after not liking my first choice. She was awesome. I’d recommend getting some Canadians from the tap and an order of the fried pickles

Drinks were excellent. My husband has his usual highball. It was a perfect pour. I had a margarita, and my niece had a Red Light (a special on the cocktail menu) it was delish!!! This is a fun place. Nice and divey. By the time we left there were people dancing on tables. Go and have a good time.

We came here for a snack at around 5 ish on a friday. This pub was quite busy inside and out. We sat out on the heated patio as inside was packed and tight in space. We tried the french onion soup for 9 $ (a bit pricey for pub food) and ribs with fries for 14 $ (not bad of a deal). Inside is dimly lit with lots of decorations. Service was so so only as it took a long time for the waitress to come back to take our orders.

Not interested, not really friendly, relatively high prices for beer.
Strange and suspicious: there are no prices in the beverage section of the menu. When asked the waitress had to ask for them inside.
Advise: walk a few meters further in any direction to experience the true Canadian hospitality!

I actually didn’t try many new restaurants this time around up at Whistler since I wanted a relaxing trip where I could just eat and enjoy my food without needing to get pictures before. We did end up trying Amsterdam Café Pub for an early dinner. They have a patio area outside with heated lamps, so great since we were up on the mountains on a rainy and chilly weekend. The pub has minimal service, with you going in and looking for your own seats and a waitress coming to take your order. We shared two dishes including the Canadian Beef Dip, which featured a roasted beef inside a toasted baguette and a side of au jus for dipping. It also came with a serving of fries. At around $ 12, this was a relatively reasonable price knowing that Whistler can be quite expensive for average food. I like it when my roast beef is medium rare, but this was definitely well done, so it more rough and dry than I’d like. The good thing is that you get the au jus to dip in, so it moistens the beef. However, the au jus was overly salty. Fries were average.
The other dish we got were the Honey Garlic Chicken Wings which came with a ranch dip. The wings were dressed heavily in sauce and topped with chopped green onions. I thought they were okay and would’ve gone great with beer. Wings were crispy on the outside and moist in the inside.
Overall, based on the items we tried at Amsterdam Café Pub, I thought it was average. Your typical pub food, so don’t expect too much. Service was also a bit slow since it was basically one waitress running around to serve all the tables. Good spot if you want food at Whistler that’s priced reasonably though.

Servers at the place could care less about how your food is tasting or liquor served was up to standards or not .
They only care if you reorder!
Got a couple of beers which turned out to be completely flat. Informed them about one, she quickly replaced it with another one without apologizing !
Ordered a vegetarian dish and guess what they served it with chicken ! When we informed them the server blamed the kitchen staff. Lol great team work ! They did make a fresh bowl of vegetarian food but it was shocking !
Just shocked with their level of service !
Surely never coming back. Horrible experience !

Stopped in for breakfast. First thing I noticed is they have a very limited menu so I ordered their «Big Breakfast». Turns out their big breakfast turned to be 3 eggs, 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 pancakes. Every single item was overcooked and dried out. For this kind of meal, Denny’s would be vastly superior. Food did not taste bad, it just wasn’t appetizing or prepared well.
Service was extremely slow. Not totally their fault because they were extremely busy, but management should do a better job of staffing. Items are extremely overpriced, but everything in Whistler is overpriced. But for these prices I would expect better quality and it is just not their. Also, music is LOUD!!! If you like hard rock at 120 decibels, this is the place for you. To summerize, I will not go back and would definately not recommend.

The service was excellent. She was attentive and we had no issues.
The food was pretty horrible, the beer selection was average, the place is actually a college town dive bar on the main drag in Whistler. (nothing wrong with a college dive bar, but a good burger is not the hardest thing in the world to do, is it?) I am sure that this place rocks late night and throws a pretty good party, but a late lunch/​early dinner on this patio should be avoided. The place is fine for drinks, wouldn’t ever eat there again.

Good place to go if you are looking to just drink and not care so much about the quality and selection of beers and such.
We stopped in late one Sunday evening around 11:00 pm to quaff a pint of Ale. We sat outside as it was way to hot inside to bother. I chose one that I was expecting to be an American Pale Ale — but turns out it was an English Pale Ale — which has quite a different flavor profile vs. an APA — more malty and less hops. I prefer the APA but drank the Ale anyway.
The place is really loud — so expect to yell a lot during your conversations. The bartender appeared to be in control of the volume and she was cranking it. Our table was dirty and sticky — so we did not stick around for another round.
We got a taste of the «show» that other reviewer had alluded to… I’ll leave it at that…

The hubs and I enjoyed this spot! Great outdoor seating (heat lamps included), food was very good (hubs had the pulled pork sandwich) and the service was fast and friendly. The outdoor seating is perfect for people watching and passing time!

While in Whistler, I really enjoyed coming here for beers and bite to eat after a good day of snowboarding. The atmosphere is a good dive-​ski bar. The wait staff always treated us well and I never had to wait too long for my beers. As for the food, it’s ok, just bar food. I recommend coming here if you are looking for something to do, between a day on the slopes and dinner! Although, it’s best if you come early…

Come to this place to chill and chat with the friendly and good looking staff, food sucks, but if u just want a pint, i would suggest.

Loud music, sassy servers in crop tops. The bartender kept my glass full. I got a buzz and wrote. No hassle and no pretense. Perfect for the purpose. Solid 3. I have came to this place for 11 years, a couple times a year. It hasn’t changed. That is nice

Stopped by here for drinks with my 2 cousins. We ordered the blueberry bomb, pornstar and the dam gernade. Drinks were okay. The only one I really liked was the Dam Gernade. Definitely recommended getting it to drink. Service here is okay. My waitress was around in the beginning and then after we got our drinks, we couldn’t find her for a good 20 minutes to order more drinks so we just left. Good place in the village to stop by and have a drink though.

Within 5 minutes of sitting down, we began to feel like we were some unprecedented huge inconvenience to our server. Apparently this bar has a reputation for being the «sexiest pub»… more like «sexist». I can only speculate that since we were a table full of girls, and our server couldn’t interact per usual by flirting with us, she didn’t know how to act towards us.
To sum up our experience:

–A lecture about why I should have known better when ordering
When we sat down, my friend asked a question about whether or not they could make a certain drink, and our server ignored the question and said she would come back when we were ready to order, even though we were ready then.
I asked how much one of their specialty cocktails cost because the price was not on the menu, and she didn’t know, or offer to check.
I wanted a veggie burger patty with just sautéed mushrooms and cheese, and asked if I could substitute this for the ton of stuff that usually comes on a veggie burger (hummus, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, etc.) since many of their other burgers had mushrooms and cheese, and they were priced closely to the veggie burger. She said «You want to add these things?» I said no, I wanted to replace the usual stuff with these things. There was no mention of any additional costs associated with these changes.
Eventually, when the bill came, there was a $ 2 add-​on for the mushrooms, and a $ 2 add-​on for the cheese. I politely explained to her that I was unaware that these things would incur an extra charge, and I would appreciate it if they could take them off the bill.
She lectured me and said that I should have known this because she had asked if I wanted to «add-​on» these items, and also, the add-​on prices were clearly listed on the menu. I asked her to show me where. She couldn’t, because they WEREN’T listed.
She said she would «check with the manager» to see what they could do. We then overheard her conversation with the manager, which basically entailed her blatantly bitching about our table. She came back with the $ 4 removed from the bill, and I got a «this won’t happen again, so don’t expect it» lecture.
Oh, and unlike everywhere else in BC, they accept cash or credit, but NO DEBIT CARDS are accepted, even though they have the Interac machine to run credit. Lame.

Ok there are «boob shots» all plastered all over over the wall — so that kind of tells you what kind of place this is — take that as a good or bad. The staffing model also reflects this philosophy. We had a good time here so chalk me down as happy customer.
I wouldn’t eat the food here but it’s a great place to grab a pint before either heading out to eat or going to another club.

Good eats, attentive warm service, decent value (for Whistler) $$. We had an Amsterdam Burger with fries and nom, nom, nom,…it was good!
Wanna burger in Whistler? Then visit the Amsterdam Café the next time your in Whistler. I know I will.
Great location for ppl watchin’ too.

This underground bar is in the center of the Whistler Village — it has a casual club-​like atmosphere with music and dim lights, as well as a projector airing hockey games. It’s a good place to go with a large group (lots of tables and space) and/​or to get a cheap (er) drink — they had $ 13 pitcher specials when I came — but the vibe seemed too divey. One of the beers on tap was completely flat and undrinkable, and many of the glasses were chipped and cracked to the point that they were almost leaking.
I would only recommend this bar if you’re looking to get drunk with a large group on a weekend.

Whistler has it all, you can find just about whatever you crave or desire. However, when one is hungry to the point of extreme crankiness, it seems hard to find something to suit one’s craving. I found myself in this situation after wandering the Village to find a late lunch/​early dinner after the drive up from Vancouver. After already passing Amsterdam once, we decided to head back that way and just get something in our stomachs.
Like so many other Whistler bars, it feels like an old college bar: Sports on the TV’s, wood paneling, memorabilia on the walls, pretty waitresses, endless pitchers of beer, and greasy pub fare. I climbed into one of the spacious booths and scoured the menu. Their food menu is fairly small and basic and I couldn’t really find anything I desired but I was starved at this point. I went with the veggie burger. Our waitress was very bubbly and conversational. She sat with us and chatted with us for a bit which was pretty cool. She talked about the mountain and gave us lots of cool suggestions. Very helpful in my book. The food wasn’t great, about average but not major complaints. I also tasted the Poutine which I’m still frightened by the cheese curds idea but it was actually pretty good.
Overall, Amsterdam was a cool place for a simple (albeit overpriced Whistler pub fare) bite and a beer. Service was the best part and it was enough to have me considering returning.
