This Government liquor store is centrally located in the Village so it’s quite convenient if you’re staying in the area. I was staying at the Westin so it’s walking distance for me. Not a huge liquor store but it has everything you really need. Staff are friendly and helpful. There’s also a grocery store next door so it’s convenient if you need to stock up on groceries.

Poor customer service. Beware if you look young they will ask you to wait outside of the store. Better buy anywhere else.

There are three BC Liquor Store locations in Whistler — this one is located right in Whistler Village in the Hearthstone Building — right next to The Whistler Grocery Store. Very convenient location to walk to — we were staying in the Westin Hotel. We picked up some red wine and a bottle of Cointreau to make Lemon Drop martinis. I also wanted to buy a bottle of Lagavulin Distiller’s Edition single malt scotch(a single malt scotch I cannot find here in the U.S.) — but they did not have it in stock. The gentleman working the register looked it up on the computer for me and found that the location down the road in Squamish, BC carries it. They stay open till 11:00 pm most nights, but I think they close at 6:00 pm on Sundays. Nice little liquor store!

The beer was actually less expensive here than at the Government Liquor Store we stopped at in Vancouver on the way up(we were on a tour of Canadian Government Liquor stores, don’t ask). You know what’s great about Canadian liquor stores? You buy beer, drink it, bring your empties(bottles) back, and THEY give YOUMONEY!!! A match made in heaven indeed.

I would say this is the best BC Liquor in Whistler. It has the biggest selection and the most knowledgeable staff. Sure, your paying through the nose, but not as much as if you went to a private store. It loses a star for closing early and not opening on Sunday. Boo. Sunday deserves some drinking time, too!
