Came back to give the place a second chance and it truly is atrocious — the crepes aren’t very good(and in the last I was served an old, rewarded one) but what’s worse is the service — they are doing you a favor serving you; especially the guy preparing crepes. No more tries for me.

Very disappointing. Ordered a treat. Strawberries and waffle. Strawberries were frozen. Yes frozen. Half a can of whip cream. I had to dig to find the waffle. Coffee was ok but filled to the rim. I guess they like emptying their garbage with litres of coffee in it. Painfully slow services with 4 people behind counter. The place was empty and after my experience I know why. Worse part was watching a «lady» behind the counter and in the food prep area repeatedly run her fingers through her long brown hair and play with her hair. Does BC have regulations regarding health and safety in a restaurants??? Fortunately I did not find any hairs in my meal but I think I was just lucky. Sadly, I will go to Starbucks next time.

Avoid the incompetence here at all costs; you are better off literally anywhere else in the village. Went there for a quick snack on Valentine’s Day around noon. The apathetic(clueless? Both?) lady at the cashier took our order. Not only did she then forget to make our drinks(note: not crowded), but got both food orders completely wrong. The guy who made our food was genuinely apologetic, but there were no apologies from the cashier who likely fed him the wrong order and then just said«I forgot» when we asked where our drinks were — felt sorry that he had to be her coworker. Actually baffled. Seriously avoid.

Sticky buns a cup of coffee before a hard day of skiing? What an awesome idea. Too bad the execution is so weak. The buns tasted prefabricated and the coffee tasted like the beans had come out of retirement for one last fight. Bummer.

Ordered the veggie panini and mocha. The bread was amazing, toasty and soft. The mocha wasn’t as sweet as I hoped but still good.

I had been craving Nutella this morning so I came here for their Nutella banana crêpe. It was delicious with the right amount of filling. The crêpe was more enjoyable than the crepes at Crêpe montage which is located a few blocks away. I would recommend this place for its banana Nutella crêpe. I arrived just before brunch at 1030am and the place wasn’t too busy. By the time I finished it was starting to get busier.

Waffle was no good. Also they use hot old syrupy looking strawberries. Breakfast crêpe was okay but will not be coming here again.

I came across Hot Buns Bakery as I was starving and was trying to see what was open so early(around 8am). The smells were intriguing and they had some folks sitting outside on their patio so I thought I’d give it a try. I sent photos of their menu to the hubby and his response was«WOW». Unfortunately, it turned into a bad experience when I asked for 2 crepes and a coffee to go as we had the baby napping in the hotel. The gentleman who made the crepes just seemed dis-interested and I took the food back to the hotel(which was literally right across the street). My hubby had ordered the sugar/cinnamon crêpe & I had the lemon crêpe. I guess I was disappointed as mine seemed to just be drowned in lemon ‘juice’ and it was so strong and also made me crêpe super wet and gooey. I liked the gal who helped me with my order — super friendly & nice but the actual quality of food was definitely lacking.

This place is so good we went here two mornings in a row. We tried to go to Moguls but they were already out of all the food we wanted so we kept walking. Despite the low Unilocal reviews we tried Hot Buns. It did not disappoint! The sausage on the breakfast bagel sandwich was amazing. We also ordered several crepes(Croque Monsieur, apple cinnamon, and Nutella) and shared them all. Delish! The coffee is good but the only thing my husband complained about was they only had milk in the carafes(creamer is in the individual plastic tubs. Ugh.)

I came to hot buns to give it a try after a not so memorable past experience. Cute place, friendly service. I ordered a Croque Madame crêpe and iced drip coffee which ran me just shy of $ 15. The crêpe was ready before I had even finished paying. Inside of a cold whole wheat«crêpe» there was diced ham luncheon meat and no more than 1 ounce of shredded cheese. Lackluster presentation, skimpy portions and tasted like a run of the mill ham and cheese sandwich minus the bread. Not the meal I was looking for.

Terrible food. We didn’t even finish the cinnamon roll, muffin or croissant.

Man when I was here last year I thought it was great. This year however not so much. They pre make there crepes, it’s the strangest thing. It’s like working harder to make a bad crêpe. Weird. Coffee is great and it’s a good location to get cup on your way home from the hill.

We were looking for some breakfast before starting our long day of snowboarding. Wondering around Whistler Village we finally stopped at Hot Buns Bakery! I have to admit, I do like the name here :) The Grub. [[ BREAKFASTWRAP $ 8.50 ]] This wrap had bacon, eggs, cheese, potato and onion. This was good. [[ MEDITERRANEANCREPE $ 9.75 ]] The crêpe was filled with spinach, tomato, onion, olive, feta cheese. It tasted really dry and a bit plain to me. Overall: Meh. This place is okay.

Faith restored: When I was here last year, the management was in shambles. Food and staff matched the description: awful. This year, I came back as my friends were there and I was pleasantly surprised. It seems it’s under new management with an entirely different attitude among staff and food that was comparable to its hey-days several years ago. It’s nice to see it restored to that same child-friendly establishment that made some pretty awesome crepes!

I was lured in by the name but should have kept on walking. Ordered a nutella crêpe and then giddily waited for my sweet goodness. I literally sat in front of the crêpe dude and watched as he meticulously made crêpe after crêpe thinking that the next one was mine. I was wrong. There were no other customers but the crêpe guy kept on making crepes then putting them into a stack. After 10 mins, the cashier reminded him about my nutella crêpe. He acknowledged then went back to making crepes and adding them to his stack… After 15 mins he finally pulls one of his pre-made crepes back on the crêpe grill thingy and slathered some nutella on it. Ummm, you couldn’t even make me fresh one!!! You were making a fresh one right before you reheated mine! As expected, the crêpe was rubbery and lukewarm. I really dislike giving 1* reviews but I felt an inner rage while watching the crêpe guy make crêpe after crêpe that I didn’t know existed.

This is cute little creperie and bakery. We came for breakfast one day during our stay in Whistler and found it to be very nice, except for the vaguely surly guy(owner?) behind the counter. What I can only imagine was his attempt at witty banter ended up coming off with just enough harshness to strike a little too close to home. Other than the surliness though all is well. Crepes were very nice — we had mostly sweet crepes in the morning and they were good. Nutella and/or cinnamon sugar were both fine representations of these classics. The fresh cinnamon roll was also good, with a topping more like a brulee shell(it was hard) then icing. Oh, plus they’ll give you a giant scoop of yummy cream cheese frosting with it as well. Coffee was meh, as I’ve learned most Whistler coffee seems to be — perhaps the water? The altitude? The lack of good beans? Not sure, but its been weak and uninspiring throughout. One word of coffee warning from my wife though — coffee places here seem to only have Sweet n’ Low as a sugar alternative, which she won’t use. So if you use something different I might suggest bringing your own supply.

Short version: Save your time & money go elsewhere. Full version: I stopped in here the other day for breakfast on my way to the slopes, the Starbucks across the way had a line out the door. I should have turned around when I saw the prices, but I was hungry & in a rush & there was no line. I ordered a latte & bacon & egg breakfast sandwich. The latte was $ 4 for a very small mug, it’s the equivalent of a short elsewhere; at least it was good. The sandwich was $ 8! It also took them 10 minutes to «make»; which involved taking it out of a freezer & microwaving it for 30 seconds. The disappointment continued when I bit in to the sandwich to discover it had about half a slice of bacon & almost no egg, it was mostly soggy tomato. This would have been bad enough, but the service topped it off. The staff in general seemed annoyed to have to take & prepare orders; I was in a rush but I was polite & courteous,. They all seemed to have a chip on their shoulder & acted like they would rather be somewhere else. And after this experience I can’t say I disagree with that sentiment!

Uhm no, I didn’t find it cute, I didn’t find charming, I did find it in DESPERATE need of learning how to make crepes. First the batter quality wasn’t good, I didn’t know I was eating a crêpe… instead I was munching on something close to a pancake. The price of a crêpe was insane, I can get better quality and cheaper at Breizh café in Paris. Yeah, I know this isn’t Paris, and I know you’re trying to make crepes the best you can but, no remove it from your menu and stick to croissants or something you can buy at Costco, resell it and make money off of it. I’d know it was Costo sure, but at least I would also know that it was decent. Is there better in Whistler — probably not, Is there better in Vancouver, definitely not, Is there better somewhere in Canada… maybe.

«Cheap-ish» eats in Whistler? Open for breakfast? I’m all in. Not sure why this place has so any complaints, their prices are reasonable and their food is above average, and a lot better than the majority of whistler joints. They serve awesome crepes, sandwiches, soups… etc. Extensive selection to choose from and there’s nothing they have that disappoints. Plus their drinks are better than Starbucks and other chain coffees. Service is friendly and the staffs are really helpful and accommodating. The restaurant«café» is really cute and cozy. A great way to start your morning in Whistler before headed to the lifts.
