My favorite sushi place in Whistler, for a casual sushi lunch or dinner. It’s an easy place to stop buy and order some sushi. It doesn’t have much seating so I wouldn’t go there if the visitor center is busy or during peak times during the day. But after work for dinner is perfect for a filling well priced sushi meal. The servers always seem to give free extra’s when I order something which I never get at any other sushi restaurants in town.

The sushi was ok. The lady behind the counter was rude and not the least bit friendly. When I asked when the to go sushi was made, she pretty much went off on me, yelling that everything was fresh. I made a selection and was then told that they would only accept credit cards for purchases over $ 10. Fortunately, I had some cash on me. Then the big kicker was when I asked for a second tiny package of soy sauce and was told that she was going to have to charge me for it. AREYOUKIDDINGME!!! Who charges for a condiment?

In a place where restaurant bills can get expensive pretty fast, this place gives you great bang for your buck. Fish is fresh and tasty. Go here and grab some takeout when you get a little sick of the overpriced sit-down dining.

Sushi tasted fantastic. Ordered spicy ramen with chicken. It WAS spicy even for me, but had fantastic flavor. Also had miso soup, dragon roll and bulogi. Negative about this place… its in the information center, so there are only 3 tables to sit.

The sushi is inexpensive and actually fresh!(Surprising for being located in the visitor’s center). The kimchi ramen is perfect if you like spicy food. If it was closer to the slopes, I would have definitely come back for lunch everyday.

We asked one of the locals to recommend a sushi place and they directed us here. The ladies working here are very nice. I was surprised at the variety of items available. They also offer prepackaged sushi at discounted prices. Seating is very limited. The rolls we ordered came out quickly and were very fresh. Too bad they are in the visitor center, it can get really crowded in there.

Very decent inexpensive sushi. We had the salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll for a quick dinner. We were passing and spotted this place somewhat incongruously situated within the visitor centre, which was closed at the time. The sushi was fresh and well priced. I’ll go back for lunch. Point lost for serving the food in a styrofoam box rather than a plate, even though it was confirmed that we were eating in.

This place has gone downhill big time. The atmosphere has never been great since it is located inside the visitors centre but the service and food used to be so much better. I have been there many times in the past because it’s cheap(for Whistler) and a somewhat quick stop for grabbing food to go. The people working used to be friendlier and they also used to throw in an extra inari or two sometimes as a bonus. They have a big selection on their menu but not all items are always available. The last time I ordered there they did not have sunomono salad like I wanted or miso soup or edamame like my friend wanted. I got a yam tempura roll, tamago, and inari. The tempura was pre-made and microwaved and the tamago wasn’t fresh either and had a strange spongey texture and was partially frozen in the middle. I was disappointed. My friend had the california roll and some sort of other roll and said it wasn’t bad but was really disappointed she couldn’t get her miso soup and edamame and she was also offended how the lady came running over and rudely snapped at her for sitting at a table for customers only. She was only trying to sit for a minute and look at the pictures of food/prices plastered all over the little stand before she ordered. The last time I was there, I went into the public restroom to freshen up before ordering. I was in front of the mirror touching up my make-up when I saw one of the ladies I recognize from Sushi To Go so I said hello. She smiled back and greeted me in return as she went from coming out of a stall to the sink. She spent literally two seconds rinsing her hands and about a second drying them before leaving and returning to work to prepare food. Yuck! Needless to say, I walked out of there without bothering to order anything after that.

It’s in the visitor centre so I resisted eating here for over five years! However, I came here with a friend and found out what I was missing! The food is prepared when you order it so it’s always hot and fresh. The staff are friendly and always smiling.

I don’t know what Brandi B’s problem is(woke up on the wrong side of the bed?). I have never written a review in my life but felt compelled to write this after eating at Sushi to go. This is a GREAT hole in the wall(literally). I am from Seattle which is home to great Japanese/Korean/Thai food. We had two kinds of Sushi and Ramen and both were very good for the price you pay. The ramen was also very good which is why I am aghast at Brandi’s review. The customer service was literally the best I have experienced at a restaurant. The lady behind the counter handed my 5 year old son a banana and treated my wife to some miso soup on the house while we were waiting for our food. We are going back tomorrow!

Rude customer service and poor quality. Ordered one miso soup and a spicy beef ramen. Was charged for 3 miso soups and the ramen was literally Top Ramen– I have never experienced this at any asain restaurant and I’ve been to alot. I would not pay $ 9 for a bowl of top ramen with 4 small pieces of meat in it. They also wouldn’t take it back and we’re pretty rude about it.

Ordered california and spicy tuna rolls. 12 pieces of sushi, for 10 bucks, made fast and to go. Nothing fancy, but good sushi for a friendly price, for when you’re in a hurry. Service was ok, and they also had change for a $ 100 bill, which I appreciated.

Sushi-To-Go is a no frills eat and run place in the Whistler visitor’s center. Get Greyhound tickets, hotel accomodation, maps, coffee, and satisfy your sushi/bibimbap/fried chicken fix all in the same hall. Service was prompt and friendly. The hall was crowded at the time with passengers waiting for the bus but the lady boss helped us get a table pronto. Got the beef udon. Decent amount of beef and noodles. The soup base was ok, I’m sensitive to salt and MSG but I didn’t feel any afterbuzz or excessive thirst. Their interpretation of chicken karaage is fried chicken wings with sesame and teriyaki dressing. The food is alright so long as you don’t set your standards too high. Prices are ok. $ 8.10 before tax on a big bowl of udon. The place is a good in-between alternative to resort restaurant prices without settling for cuisine-de-711 a couple blocks away. $ 10 minimum for debit cards.
