Established in 2015.

After more than two decades providing front line prehospital care as an advanced care paramedic, paramedic educator and prehospital researcher our founder, Robbie Ichelson began offering our services to everyone interested in learning how to save a life. From this canaPHEM was born.

Robbie I.

Business Owner

Robbie Ichelson is the founder of The Canadian Academy of Prehospital and Emergency Medicine.

He is a passionate advanced care paramedic with a focus on advocacy, lifelong learning, research and education. With almost 25 years providing front line prehospital care and mentorship he has evolved to become a leader in patient advocacy, prehospital research and education. His research interests include prehospital identification and management of sepsis, knowledge translation in paramedicine, and the utility of case based learning, problem based learning and personal practical knowledge in initial and ongoing paramedic education as well as community and professional responder preparedness.

Robbie is a graduate of the Ambulance and Emergency Care program at Humber College, the Advanced Care Paramedic Program from Centennial College and the Bachelor of Allied Health Science Honours Program from The University of Ontario Institute of Technology. He is currently completing the Masters
