Hellenic Sub

Hellenic sub is a small sub shop located near Downtown Windsor. The place itself is secluded and located right by a hotel, so its not the nicest of areas, but that’s no knock on the place. With an old school café feel, Hellenic is dishing out subs of all varieties to the local Windsorites.
I ordered the massive clubhouse that comes accompanied with chicken, bacon, and all the fixins. The sub itself is contigent on the bread being warm and it was for the occassion. The sub itself isn’t very large, but the meat to bread ratio was done well. The seasoning of the meat is good and the overall sub as a whole fit. I also got a side of fries because I am indeed fat.
If you’re looking for a quick bite, this is a good spot to hit up. Prices are pretty good as you can get a large sub for around $ 6 – 8. Definitely good value for the food.

It is acceptable. Their gyros are just average. The place is rundown like many other downtown businesses.

I do have my complaints about it (white onions instead of red on the salad, frozen french fries) but even with this being said, I can’t help but give it the full 5 stars because they’ve got the best tasting gyro in the city, and a fantastic salad (minus the white onions and red beets) to boot.
Guy operating it is always friendly enough, and I would recommend it to anyone

My wife and I have been here many times over the last 18 years visiting from Pittsburgh. They have been wonderful on every trip with delicious gyros, awesome Greek dressing for the salads, and all around good quality for the money. Every time we go back we wonder if it will meet our expectations from previous enjoyable experiences… and time after time, the team at Hellenic meet our expectations! Give it a try for some seriously good take out. Silver spoon types need not apply ~ only the sincere taste buds amongst you! You’re gonna BAK-​LA-​LOVE-​IT!
