Who is Just Cork-​It ?

Many wine making stores, or «brew on premise stores» were developed from the «beer making on premise stores»; originally opened in the 1980’s. They started making wine because their customers began asking for it. The type of store that developed by combining the two very different products, was a reflection of the past, a kind of a back room brew house, that also made wine.

As those customers matured they began the search for a more enjoyable place to make their wine. They no longer felt comfortable in the older, dirty environment, sharing the facilities with the younger beer drinking crowd. They were looking for a place that specialized in wine, a place where they could get professional advice about wine and wine making. Somewhere that was owned and operated by someone who shared their passion and interest in the world of wines.

Business Owner

Doug, founder of Just Cork-​It The Wine Making Place Ltd., was employed as a business manager from 1982 to 1999 by several companies.

Doug left his last management position in the summer of 2000 to open and develop a chain of winemaking stores known as Just Cork-​It. Throughout his 20 years managing others businesses he regularly participated in management training and development courses offered by the companies he worked for. This training and years of business management experience prepared him for the challenge of starting and growing a successful wine making stores.
