Stars: The reason for 3 stars is because this place is very inconsistent. We have dined at Nero’s several times. We have had some really great experiences and a few really bad. The last 2 dines where sub-par. During the latest one, we specifically made reservations to eat earlier. We were seated 15 minutes later than the reservation(no big deal) but we did not receive our order until 9:55PM. The server knew we were upset so he was reluctant to ask if we wanted more drinks. I physically got up and bought drinks from the Casino bar… not even the bar in Neros. He was very quick to bring us the check though… hmm wonder why? The manager came over to apologize for the late food. The food was decent. Nothing great.

Nero’s is tucked inside Caesars Palace. Upscale but not stuffy. When we walked in, we asked if we wanted a window seat.. SCORE! Well, not really because the window seat wasn’t really anything special. it was a view of the street, but it’s the thought that counts, right? Moving on. Decisions, decisions. Tell me why it is that almost every single time we go to a steakhouse, I don’t choose steak. Seriously, you think I would learn my lesson. Bread was brought out right away, so we skipped the apps. Then there was a surprise little salad on a cucumber slice that we were not expecting so that was a plus! For my entrée, I chose the roasted atlantic lobster with tagliatelle. The dish came with shrimp, scallops and crab, which is why I chose it over a steak. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the sauce that accompanied the pasta was amazing. Downside — there were two shrimp and one scallop. Seriously? I don’t know if that was an oversight or what but that was pretty skimpy. I asked our server if that was the way it was usually served & she wasn’t sure but was very apologetic. The duck fat potatoes were good. No complaints. Because of my lack of shrimp & scallops, our server gave us a dessert on the house. Maple crème brûlée was our choice & mmm mmm mmm was it good! Great spot inside a casino!

My husband and I ate there for the first time last night. We had the 14oz ribeye medium rare, which came with a red wine sauce. It was the best ribeye we ever had. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and so tender you could cut it with your fork. You had to choose a side a la carte, and we chose the roasted potatoes in suck fat. They were cooked perfectly, but lacked flavor. Both of us had wine. Our service was wonderful. Tony waited on us, and he was great. At 73 years old, he moves faster than some 30 year old people! He was funny, and sweet. Of course, the atmosphere was lovely. A gorgeous view of the Detroit River, and the GM Center from where we were seated. A great experience, and we will go back.(We’re from around Detroit)

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our reservation, the host was very accommodating and sat us right away. Our waitress was very friendly, and took a minute to wish us a happy anniversary. We looked over the menu and our waitress came back to take our orders. I was impressed by the fact that she actually wrote our orders down. Many waitress/waiters simply try and remember the orders which usually causes a problem some where down the line(personal experiences). We stared off with an order of pan seared scallops, they were delicious; however, in my opinion 3 scallops are not worth $ 17.00. They were excellent, however, we were expecting more than 3 scallops. We followed our scallops with two bowls of soup. I had the onion soup and my wife had the New England clam chowder. Both were excellent soups. We each ordered a steak; probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in a very long time. The steaks were seasoned perfectly, with a fantastic char. My wife ordered the crab and cheese macaroni side and I order whipped Yukon gold potatoes. Both sides were the perfect size for sharing. The crab and cheese macaroni was fabulous, it was nice to see and to taste the fact it was made with real not imitation crab meat. The Yukon gold whipped potatoes were simply the best tasting potatoes I have ever had in a restaurant. It is the one side I will definitely order time and time again. The texture was smooth, creamy with a brilliant taste. As were waiting for our dessert we were seated next to the window overlooking the landscaping. We asked our waitress if there was a herb garden mixed in with the landscaping. She told us that there indeed was a herb garden and that the chef picks fresh herbs daily for the meals. We finished our wonderful meals and decided to order dessert. I had the shortcake, and my wife had the tart. After such a wonderful meal we were very disappointed in our desserts. Very small, I didn’t care for the taste, nor did my wife. That is really the only negative to our dinning experience at Nero’s. Our waitress was wonderful, not only because she wished us a happy anniversary, but she removed a charge from one our desserts in honour of our wedding anniversary. A small gesture, but meant a lot to the both of us. We will definitely be back to eat at Nero’s. Just remember to bring your credit card or extra cash. Out the door with meal, tax and tip was $ 175.00. That price is with no alcohol or coffees. That being said, if you’re a steak lover… Nero’s is for you.

So last night was an off night for Neros. It’s usually a 5 star experience. My steak was over cooked and dried out the first time around but they made it right. Also, the kitchen is plating the sides too soon before the main entrée is finished. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were luke warm. Again, everything is usually perfect… I guess just an off night in the kitchen. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt and still giving 4 stars.

Fancy restaurant inside the Caesar’s Casino. Very well-lit, great music, very nice ambience. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is a steakhouse but they have great seafood selection as well. I love the seafood linguine. In terms of coffee and dessert, nero indulgence and the B-52 taste sooooo good! All of their coffees contain alcohol. Dessert: raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. I am soooo indulging! The best restaurant in Windsor.

Considering this is a steakhouse in a casino, I expected to be wow-ed. I left feeling«Meh» about the whole situation. We made a reservation for 3 at 7pm, thinking that being there 2 hours before the Amy Schumer show would leave us plenty of time to eat. We went to check in a few minutes before our reservation, and noticed lots of people standing around, also with reservations. It took about 5 minutes for us to get sat at our table. We got some water from our server, and she told us the specials. She ran off without taking our drink order. A man brought us a bread basket. Our server eventually did come back and take our orders. We had an appetizer, a soup and two salads, and three entrees. We had been there for almost an hour and all we had received was the appetizer. I flagged down a manager and told them that we were supposed to be going to the comedy show, and that we need our food as soon as possible if they could. Within 5 – 10 minutes they dropped our salads/soup, and said it’d be another 20 minutes before our meals would be delivered. I’ve never been to a restaurant that took over an hour and a half to get to the main course. We were now under crunch time, and our server had gone missing again after our food was delivered. My friend flagged down another manager, asking for our bill so we could cash out. Their credit card system is ridiculous here. They have these handheld machines, but apparently not enough of them. My friend ended up going to a seperate waitress station to cash out, and she had to sign her card, etc. on location there. Considering how pricy the food was, and that this was supposed to be the upscale place to eat in the casino, it was an overall dissapointment. The food didn’t wow any of us. It was acceptable, but nothing AMAZING. Not every table was full, there wasn’t a wait at the door, not sure why this was such a disaster.

Great location. Food was very tasty. I enjoyed the Alaskan salmon and a side of lobster mac and cheese my husband and I shared. My husband had steak and lobster. Food and service were excellent! Great experience.

One star too generous! Reservations on a Saturday night — about 6 diners in restaurant. It was our 20th anniversary and a special dinner — waited forever for someone to service us! Ordered a bottle of wine for a zillion dollars. Now comes the best part — have you seen houseflies in April at any restaurant! Yes there is one buzzing around our table all night. Having ordered a steak dinner and veal chop — they arrived on a plate one steak, and one veal chop nothing else. No accompaniments whatsoever! How about a little razzle-dazzle a few little greens a little vegetable that comes with your $ 50 meal! Service was slow attitude was pissy and have vowed we will never go back and we make it a point to let everyone know not to go there!!!

One of my favorite restaurants. The best steaks I have eaten anywhere… and I have been to many upscale steakhouses. Love the views of river and Detroit skyline. Service is always great. Definitely not a cheap place to eat but well worth it!!!

My steak was awesome, We sat at the bar. Very classy place and the food is outstanding. The only issue i had was how slow the place was. Not just with me, but watched all the folks that were eating at the bar. The place was not that busy, so should not of taken that long. The food made up for it. It was cooked perfect. The service was not the servers issue. He was doing all he could. The kitchen was slow. I would go back and give them another try.

This is the«fine dining» restaurant located in Caesar’s Palace Hotel. Four of us had dinner and a variety of appetizers, entrees, vegetables and two different wines. None of us was remotely impressed with the food. The wine was crazy overpriced, and the red wine we ordered(over $ 100) was drab. I later looked up many wines on their list and found that the majority had a retail price point under $ 10.00. Moreover, we had a disinterested female server. It’s all excusable if the food, service, and experience were great. They were not. In all honesty, I tried also the«casual» restaurants at Caesar’s Windsor. They were all subpar. Caesar’s! What’s with you? The management needs to get a grip on the Windsor restaurants.

My boyfriend and I stopped in Ceasers Windsor Casino to exchange currency. On a whim, we decided to stay and enjoy dinner at Nero’s. It wasn’t our first choice as we pondered going back stateside, but we’re so glad we did. We were promptly seated with views overlooking the Detroit River. What an amazing view of Detroit. The seating was comfortable, not pretentious. The overall feel of the restaurant is very casual yet elegant. Patrons were dressed in all manner of attire. Our server was delightful and informative. I ordered Grilled Ontario Beef Tenderloin from the«Early Evening Menu» while my boyfriend ordered Slow Roasted AAA Prime Rib from the«Full Menu». We split a Caramelized Bosc Pear and Baby Greens Salad while awaiting our dinner entrees and talked about life and love while gazing out toward the river. We both agreed that salad was probably one of the best salads we’ve ever ordered. The pears were poached perfectly and the blue cheese had a soft flavor, not over-powering as some blues can be. The dressing was obviously house-made and delicious. Beautiful presentation. It was a large serving. We devoured it. Service throughout our evening was spot-on. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. There is a fine line. She nailed it. Our dinners were perfect. Again, beautifully plated. Both meats were cooked to our exact specifications, fork tender and the sides were very good. I will say, we both ate everything on our plates. It was a very pleasant, relaxed and filling meal. Toward the end of our evening, the Restaurant Manager stopped at our table. I can’t remember her name, however, she had only been there about a month. She inquired if we had enjoyed our food and visit to the casino. All in all, she was very engaging, listened intently to our comments and was very kind. We ended our night by sharing a slice of New York Cheesecake which we could BARELY finish. Large slice, great choice. For dining on a whim, Nero’s did not disappoint. We will definitely return and bookmarked this steakhouse for future visits.

Very solid restaurant. Went on a busy evening and sat at the bar – served by bartender who gave us very solid service. I had the branzini(very good) and my husband had the duck(excellent). We had two 10 percent off coupons and put them to good use. Would return.

The Keg down the street was fully booked so we picked Neros which was empty… that should have been the first warning. I’m not a food snob, but I’m accustomed to eating at good restaurants throughout North America. Given the location and prices, we were expecting 5 star service and food…2 stars would be generous. First off… can we finally get rid of the US steakhouse tradition of selling«sides» separate. At 40 bucks, at least throw a potato and some veggies on the plate. It’s a ridiculous concept, and being presented a large plate with just a slab of meat is unappetizing. C’mon chef, be inventive. Of the 4 dishes, 2 were ok, and 2 were well below average. We actually had to send the prime rib back… it was tough and dry. The replacement rib-eye was equally disappointing. At $ 70 a head, service should be more than just putting plates down, and when a plate is sent back, the chef or maitre’d should immediately get involved. To owners: If you insist on this type of steak restaurant then copy some of the best… check out 3 Forks in Dallas… be sure to make reservations though, they won’t be empty.

I took my wife and parents here during our one-night stop in Windsor. The atmosphere feels like a Morton’s. If I didn’t know better, this used to be a Morton’s and someone just changed the sign. The service was good, but the place was very loud. There was a table of about 15 sales men who couldn’t stop shouting and talking about how much tail they were going to get tonight. It was a non-stop curse fest. I didn’t complain, but the restaurant also didn’t seem to care to tell them to keep it down. I’m not rating that against them since I didn’t complain, but I do want to note the atmosphere can get loud. This place is pricey. Our wine looked to have a 350% markup, which is too high in my book. The steaks were about what I expected to see for a prime steakhouse. If you’re looking to save a buck, stick to water. Otherwise, be ready to spend an equal amount on your drinks as you do on steaks. With that said, the wine list is quite impressive. If I wasn’t planning on wasting away my money on the casino floor, I would have been able to get some really amazing wines. Even so, I told my waiter what I wanted and my price range and he suggested something on the lowest-end of the price scale given the style of wine I wanted. That was nice of him and the wine was indeed very good. The prime steaks were all very good and cooked properly. I had the 16 oz Shawn Morris farms dry aged bone in striploin. The flavor was amazing and the trimming was perfect. My dad got the 16oz prime ribeye, which was also flavorful; however, the cut looked a little rough. They could have done a better job trimming this one. My wife got he pork chop – it was cooked right and tasted good, but pretty forgettable. My mother got the black cod, which was really good, but also nothing to write home about. All in all, I would go back, but I would stick to steak only. It’s a pretty classic/generic Morton’s-style menu, which is perfectly fine when looking for a steakhouse experience. I’ve certainly had better at this price point, but not inside a Casino. If you’re looking for the full casino experience, then I say eat here. If not, then it might be worth exploring the other options in Windsor. But, based on my experience, you wouldn’t be making a mistake eating here.

In all my many, many years of visiting Caesars Windsor I have never once set foot in Nero’s, the«fancy eaten» place. Since I had all those points from the last CET contest and since I noticed that they now offer some Fixed Price menus, I told Donna to bring some«fancy eaten» clothes because we were going to dine in style. We had a 5:30 reservation. We were escorted to a window table with a view of the river. The chairs are so comfortable it is like sitting in your very own living room. The ambiance of the room is very soothing. They have an Early Evening special from 5 to 6pm where you get soup or salad, an entrée and a dessert for $ 38.00. They also have drink specials($ 5) so we each ordered a Cosmopoliton. We both started with the Seafood Chowder. I enjoyed it but it had a little too much kick for me. I would have prefered a milder taste. Our selection for the entrée was Beef Medallions and Garlic Shrimp with Yukon Mashed Potatoes and broccoli. The meal was just incredible. The beef just melted in your mouth. And the portions were a decent size. You didn’t leave the table hungry, like you do in some upscale places. For dessert we chose the Chocolate Sliver which had an almost brownie like texture and was the perfect way to end the meal. AS a Total Rewards member you also get a discount on the food as well as earning points. The final bill was extremely reasonable. Our waiter was personable and attentive.(I just wish I could remember his name.) It may have been my first visit there but it won’t be my last!

Went on a Wednesday night with five other guys. The restaurant wasn’t terribly busy which was a good thing. Great views of the Detroit skyline. Wednesday night showcases local products from Essex County so ordered a tomato salad and 18 ounce dry aged ribeye from Shawn Morris farms(in Comber, Ontario). The salad was fantastic with amazingly juicy tomatoes. The ribeye was much thinner and fattier than I thought. That being said, it was quite flavorful. The cut and trimming could have been better. Service was average to good. Not exceptional. Would definitely come back.

A little on the high end but everything we ordered was very good. Two of us had steak. I had the ribeye with mushrooms and red wine sauce. It was very good. Another person had a seafood dish. They were very happy with it. Our 4th person had a special-made vegetarian dish. They enjoyed it too. Service was slow but that was OK since we were having a business dinner. Dessert was also very good. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Nice waiter. We went on a Wednesday night.

So the missus and I had a concert at Casino Windsor and we were merely looking for a place to eat before the show. We wanted convenience and something with good food and the easiest choice was to find a restaurant at the casino. That’s how we stumbled upon Nero’s Steakhouse. Two words: INCREDIBLYDISAPPOINTING. First the positives… great atmosphere, clean and comfortable with a quasi-romantic feel. We had a 6:30 reservation to make sure we had no rush to make the 9:00 show. Our waiter was in his 60s and told us he had been doing this his whole career. He was polite and I was pleased to know he was very experienced. And that would be the last of the good-feel vibe the rest of the restaurant experience. We ordered a couple proseccos to get things started. When he came back after the drink orders, he asked us what we would like for appetizers. That seems totally on cue if you bring the drinks we ordered. He didn’t. But we ordered two appetizers(escargot and 4 grilled lemon/garlic shrimp) and figured the bubbly was on the way. Fifteen puzzling minutes later and no prosecco he delivers one of the appetizers. So we ask about the prosecco and he tells us since the app showed up in the window he had to grab it first or it would go cold. O… K…was he fermenting the grapes himself? So he comes back a few minutes later with the second appetizer and STILLNOPROSECCO! So we decide, screw it, just order a bottle of wine and forget the prosecco, it’s obviously too much work for him. On a side note, the bottle of wine I ordered retails at $ 17 – 18.(We paid $ 57. If the math is right, that’s over 300% markup.) Now the appetizers: BLAND. I can’t tell you how ridiculously under-seasoned the appetizers were. Maybe it’s a bad sign when a high-end restaurant puts salt and pepper on the table without a request. It’s a debatable point. What’s not debatable is that we felt we were eating something off the cardiac diet list at the local hospital. So now I’m drinking my wife’s water because Mr. I’ve Been Doing This My Whole Life hasn’t noticed mine has been empty for 20 minutes. She orders some kind of seafood risotto and I was dying to pull the trigger on a cut of prime beef, but the smallest cut was 10 ounces and I just didn’t have the gusto. So I go with the steamed crab legs with drawn butter. Safe and simple, nothing stellar, but a good stand-by. At least the entrees come in a timely manner because the food that arrived was Rhodes Scholar working at Burger King disappointing. So, my wife’s risotto was… ahhhh…crunchy. Oh, and did we mention BLAND? What the hell? Does the chef have an allergy to salt and spices in general? And I’m willing to bet my crab legs were cooked the day before and left over from that point. No way they were cooked that day. And as for ½ pound, sorry. But this was a case of metric miscalculation. Maybe 4 ounces. And luke warm. UNREAL. Mercifully they had miniature bottles of ice wine we could enjoy for dessert. I ordered some butter pecan pie torte-ish thing with an adult coffee. Coffee was ok, but the pie thing was no better than Entenmann’s. No joke. So after my 14% tip(too generous in retrospect) our bill came in around $ 260 Canadian. I’m tempted to tell people we got mugged in Windsor because normally this kind of thing is done with a gun and a ski mask. Simply unbelievable. I wouldn’t go back if they comped us an entire meal. I’m serious. Skip this and hit the local Burger King. The food and service are better and the money you save will allow you to get a decent bottle of wine for far less.
