Pause Cafe

Pause Café has always been a popular spot for people to grab lunch with their Salads, Soups and Sandwiches; however, I have never ate food here. That is right… I come here for the ice cream. The ice cream is the thing among ice cream aficionados. It’s is pure French-​style churned ice cream at it’s best. However, the sad part is that they only make ice cream from Spring to Fall… I would eat it in the winter, everyday… trust me.
Between spring and fall, this is a great micro creamery… they make their ice cream by trying to use all the local ingredients that they can source. They don’t do a strawberry ice cream until strawberries are in season and they don’t do their peach ice cream until August, when the peaches are in season. There are probably a dozen or two varieties of ice cream that they make. Some of the best vanilla I have ever had.
Everything is made from scratch… all homemade, pure ice cream !

I had a sandwich with turkey, tomato, and lettuce and it was very filling as I was surprised by the amount of turkey. It was also really good too.
Why I am giving it three stars? For one, they don’t construct the sandwich when you order instead they have it all packaged together beforehand. I asked for the basil mayo on the side and the guy told me it was already made that way. Plus for me it just wasn’t the best café I’ve been to. Okay food.

I love this place, I just wished I lived/​worked closer so I could go everyday! They’re not open Sundays, which is harsh for me, but everyone needs a day off.
Loved their paninis and soups. Looking forward to ice cream time. They’re definitely passionate about the flavours they create. Can’t wait to see what they come up with this year!

A quiet little place tucked into downtown Windsor that you don’t want to miss, especially in the summer. They have a nice selection of food and though the service is a little slow, it’s worth the wait. They’re now offering homemade icecream in up to 25 different flavours which is something no one else is doing downtown. I tried the Peanut Brittle ice cream last weekend and I was blown away! I already can’t wait to go back and try more flavours!
