Windsor Inn On the River

I have to preface this by saying this review is from 2013, but I kept forgetting to post it.
We’ve stayed at Windsor Inn on the River a couple of times. The house and location can’t be beat. However, there have definitely been some strange things the past two times we went, and we haven’t been back because of them.
First, while the woman we’ve met before was really nice, she wasn’t allowed to do the checkout and it was all quite confusing. Also, my husband is French/​Canadian, and there was a guest during the night on the porch drinking with the proprietors who was apparently doing a long term stay who disliked French people. He referred to my husband as a «f*cking frog» and was quite vulgar and drunk. He also went after various immigrant groups. I was pretty shocked this was allowed to happen.
During our next visit, the house was looking a bit more shabby. Our room was freezing, and there was no one on site to help (in fact, we were let in by our friends who were also staying there). We tried to adjust the heat, but it wasn’t possible. Our television also wasn’t working, nor was the wifi.
Overall, it just wasn’t a really pleasant experience. We’ve had nicer stays at other B&B’s in the area, and we will return to those in the future. This is such a perfect location, but just not in the condition needed to stay comfortably.
