Very close to a 4. The Papa burger patties were very good. Nicely cooked and tasted like ground beef, NOT the usual fast food cardboard burgers. The veggie burger was nicely done. The fries and onion rings were a little greasy, Nice flavour with the season salt.

While there is an A&W closer to home, this tends to be our favored location. [The extra drive is also a bit relaxing after a long day at work] Their Rootbeer has remained solid from the days of childhood til now and definitely a treat. Frequent 2 can Dine coupons are a bonus and makes it a nice treat. The one thing to look out for though, is their fries. While A&W has changed their fries and makes really awesome fries [that are easy to power through a bag very quickly], we find that we have to ask them to make a fresh batch when we go after work [Usually around the 9:30pm time frame]. Sadly, we’ve had the odd experience with fries that had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long and just aren’t great. But the fact they are willing to whip up a small fresh batch for us makes the few minute wait worth it. Also a nice touch? If it will take a few minutes, they kindly let you know and offer to let you park in the ample parking around the corner and they bring out the food to you. Not on rollerskates mind you… that would be awesome! But any small wait has always been met with a smile and great food.

Ah, A&W. Where would I be without you? Much more thirsty for sure. Parking is ample, as this location is in the middle of a strip mall. This location has a drive-through as well. The location gets a little busy during lunchtime. I had the 2-piece Chubby Chicken combo. It was actually quite filling. It’s really nice that the packets of ketchup here are 3 times larger than the competition. The chicken itself was actually really good! A&W also has what I feel are some of the best fries in the industry(the other place being Harvey’s). Crispy, not too oily, and not too salty. Their trademark Root Beer is sickening sweet, but always delivers. You may not want to try their coleslaw though. It tastes really strange. The only thing is that their meals are pretty pricey. This combo set me back $ 9 after tax. Thank goodness someone else was paying.
