Ok it’s 2 weeks before my daughter’s 7th birthday… Where to go? She’s asking for a pajama party at a hotel — 250? Way too much money. I know! Movie theatre party — what do you mean booked solid over a month out? Crap… ok scratch that. Then it hit me. What do 7 year old girls like to do? Mine always wants to paint her nails so manicures for all! I’ll follow that up by taking the girls back to my place for cake and a swim in our pool. One of the first places I though ot going was the Capelli Academy in the exchange district. I get my brows waxed here regularly(7 bucks for a brow wax? Can’t go wrong with that… yes… I’m cheap.) I know they have a ton of staff here so the girls would be able to get all their nails done at the same time so I call up the school’s teacher(Patti — who is amazing by the way). Once I toss the idea past her she tells me that she can slot me in on the day I’m looking for and the best price she could give is 8 dollars a kid(Their normal manicure price is 12.00 however, since the girls are young they will not be having their cuticles cut). 8 dollars?! Done deal! So that’s where we’ll be headed today. As stated, I do visit this place quite regularly. it is a beauty school, but I have to say that the staff/students really do a fantastic job. The teacher always watches, mentors and ensures that service is top notch. I’ve been here for brow waxes, gel tips, manicures, pedicures and chair massages. Their prices can’t be beat and I’m always happy with the end result. I’ve recommended them to quite a few friends in the past and they too are now returning customers so I thought I’d share the secret with fellow Unilocalers. My daughter is now very excited and has told me that her birthday party will be «the bomb» Capelli saved the day: D Note: — They do not accept tips when paying with plastic. If you want to give one it has to be cash.
