History

Established in 2013.

Aurora Borealis Concrete Studios opened January 1, 2013 in Winnipeg, Manitoba as a distributor for ICoats Concrete Products. Murray and Heather Genik purchased the distribution rights for the ICoats Concrete Products from Advance Exteriors. Advance had owned the distribution rights, but due to quick expansion with their exterior renovation division, the owner decided to sell this part of the business so that it could be given the attention it deserved. We have a protected territory for supplying the ICoats brand of decorative concrete products.

Prior to starting ABC Studios, both Murray and Heather had experimented in concrete renovations, most notedly building and installing concrete countertops in a home they owned together in Winnipeg. When the Genik’s were introduced to the ICoat’s Concrete line of products, they began to see a much more versatile product, with a variety of applications. Heather G.

Business Owner

Heather is the president of ABC Studios and Alert Security Training. Her experience operating a successful training business will be essential in expanding and developing the training part of ABC Studios. Coming from a security background, as well as having previous experience in home renovations, she has the knowledge required to understand the products and teach others about the many uses of them. Heather is married to Murray. The couple have a dog named Bandanna, and a cat named Ninja, and live outside the city of Winnipeg. The couple plan to grow their business and eventually build a sailboat to sail around the world.
