The only thing is there’s a creepy employee who hides behind a stop sign that is behind the building and smokes cigarettes a LOT.
He’s never jumped out or tried to scare anyone but don’t be surprised or frightened if you see him.

Get over it– fellow Unilocalers. This place is cheap bar food and it’s done pretty well. Is it authentic Mexican? Not by a long shot. But it’s inexpensive, open late, and they make a mean ceaser.
I usually get the mountain of guacamole but there are a few kinds of nachos which are nice too. I’m not a huge fan of the wings over other places but they’ve added a few flavors so I’ll have to try those out.
All in all: a cute place, good for groups, and has a patio option. I’m not complaining.

Went here the other day for a quick lunch. Three friends and I split their guacamole dip. Holy cow it was a lot of guacamole! Taste wise, decent. Quantity? TONS! the four of us split the whole thing and still took half home. Granted, I’d eaten soon before. Still, only paid about $ 2.50 a person!
Either way, I’m gonna have to try this place again to get a good sense, but nice digs, got me out of the cold, and decent (and huge!) guac! A little more salt though please.

It’s not my favorite restaurant considering I hate Mexican food but I went because everyone else wanted to go. We went for lunch on a Saturday and my waitress so did not want to be there. She only refilled our water when we requested her /​shouted for her when she wasn’t hiding and my sister-​in-​law needed a new glass because hers was covered in gross. Thankfully they had a few options for people who don’t like Mexican but my burger was mediocre. I ordered a bacon burger and it ended up having «Canadian» bacon on it instead of a piece of yummy salty stripy goodness. There was also no ketchup and by the time we saw her again and called her over my burger was cold. Everyone else at the table got various Mexican dishes and they all really enjoyed their food. I don’t think I will be going back though.

I love this place. Dark, dated, and great times! If you’re looking for casual Mexican, this is the spot! You don’t need to spend too much time focusing on the condition of the floor or walls… just enjoy the good times and good food!

Although it’s hard to get Mexican food in winnipeg, Carlos and Murphys is not the answer. Horrible food (canned salsa, horrible guac) and a beer list which is outshined by a cooler outside a motor-​home. If you find this food tastes good, stop smoking those cigs and get your taste buds back.

I heard this was the best mexican food in da peg… errrrr wrong… well maybe in the peg.
But I was not impressed at all
the salsa flavorless and resembled tomato paste with chili powder
They managed to find jalapenos with zero flavor
The premixed margaritas were weak and fake.

This place is good for appetizers and beers, but their Tex-​Mex is really bad. I went there for lunch once and ordered some sort of enchilada plate and it was very mushy without a lot of flavour. My mom ordered a mushroom burrito and the inside wasn’t cooked properly and was cold in the middle.
