Shared the congee with pork & preserved egg(decent although they put some sort of crispy chip thing on top which I am not used to seeing), tripe(a bit funky tasting), sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaf) mostly ok except there was no variety in there and the ingredients were a bit skimpy), roast pork bun(decent) & shrimp dumplings(ok). My biggest complaint is about the service. We had ordered the fried sesame ball dessert at the very beginning with all the other items we ordered. However, it never came out. We asked about it and they apologized and so we thought they were making it in the back. However, another 20 minutes or so went by and we clearly were done eating since there was no more food on our table and I basically had to flag someone down to ask about the dessert. They said they thought we did not want it anymore. Uh hello? When was that said? Why were we sitting at the table then for the next 20 minutes with no food left? So we asked how long it would take and that we still wanted the order. Another 10 minutes rolled by and they finally rolled out. I seriously cannot believe that after waiting 30 minutes they did not comp the dessert. I am quite picky about Chinese food and the ratings given to this place have left me confused. I probably would’ve given it 3 stars for food but with the dessert fiasco, minus a star.

We always stopped at their old location before going to the Ballet. The food was always very good although the restaurant was a little crowded and the service could be slow. We stopped by their new location and I was very impressed. They now have space to have carts constantly rolling by with a great selection of Dim Sum. I’m not sure why someone felt the prices were high. Our bill was around forty dollars for all three of us to eat our fill of delicious food. We will certainly return.

Well, I used to come here, and I decided on the weekend that I hadn’t been in a while and maybe I should check it out… Boy was that a mistake, everything has gone up significantly in price, you won’t find anything worth eating that isn’t «chef’s special» which basically means it’s $ 5 a dish. U always though Dim Sum was cheap, well, not at this place. The food I could afford was mediocre, if not cold. I had some edible ginger chicken thing and a shrimp cake… That’s where it got interesting. I tried to use my chop stick to break the shrimp cake and it broke it two. Fortunately there was a lady driving her cart by. Unfortunately she couldn’t speak English and even though was Chinese was no able to discern what the problem with one chopstick was. She finally said ok and turned around and walked away. I was brought under the impression she was going to get me another one, but I was sadly mistaken. For the rest of my ‘meal’ I was forced to use half of a chop stick. Finally another lady came around with shrimp dumplings… I asked her if they were«chef’s special.» to which near as I can tell she advised me they were not, and then marked them as chefs special. Good thing I caught it, otherwise my $ 15 bill would’ve been $ 25. Before I got fed up and left. I cannot fathom going in for Dim Sum and dropping $ 80 or something stupid, but at $ 5 for 3 dumplings, it certainly wouldn’t take long. I will never go back.

I used to go here every week. I’m a huge fan of dim sum(yum cha). Although I’ve been to many different dim sum restaurants from all over the place, I’ve gotta say that this is one type of restaurant that I haven’t yet discovered or set a standard for. So rather than pros and cons it’ll be easier for me to just list point form my general experience for a typical visit. –the parking lot can hold 7 – 10 cars max in an awkwardly tight space –some street meter parking could be found –restaurant located in an area that is split between popular spots like the museum, RRC and a pretty rough residential area –you’ll be seated quite quickly *unless its happy hour* –given a menu/checklist, pencil & asked if you’d like a drink *unless its happy hour* –once checklist is filled out they will take it and promptly serve your food –the food is always excellent –it’s generally quiet *unless its happy hour* –the service is always quite prompt *unless its happy hour* –prices are ok nothing outlandish *unless its happy hour* OK so ‘happy hour’ happens twice a day here. It’s a time of day when dimsum is approximately half price so its insanely cheaper. On the flip side its harder to find parking, a much longer wait in line to get seated, longer wait for food and much louder. That being said, the food is definitely tasty enough to warrant going whether its happy hour or not.

Was here with my family and my parents all the way from Houston, TX. Servoce was S-L-O-W!!! We wanted to get going to another activity but had been at Grand Beach all day and were hungry. When they FINALLY began to bring out one tasty dish at a time(we ordered around 11 or so dim sum dishes) we decided it was worth the wait. We were even happier when we got the bill.

I been here lots over the years and it has always been good. For Winnipeg this is a good choice for the price. Depending on the time of day the service varies, and the choices being wheeled by may be limited, but it all seems to work out. Good place for a large group.

We went to the new location on Pembina highway at Bairdmore = No dim sum yet, but the food was plentiful and delicious. We especially enjoyed the pan-fried shrimp

Probably the best Dim Sum in Winnipeg. I don’t live here but this place is definitely the tits when it comes to Dim Sum. The place is HUGE with tables to seat a crowd of Dim Sum loving customers. My cousins took me here and I have to say, I was a bit skeptical of the reviews. It was obviously a very crowded establishment which has to count for something, but you also have to remember how small Winnipeg is. This place did not disappoint. Dim Sum was spot on. Prices were awesome because you can get a load of Dim Sum for a crazy cheap price. The desserts were soooo good, and they have a vast selection. The carts were just flying by us constantly and everyone was happy to serve. This is really one of the better Dim Sum restaurants in Winnipeg. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, check it out.

One of the better restaurants in Chinatown along with Kum Koon Garden. Their food has always stayed top notch over the years and I always look forward to eating there. Be careful when you pay your bill though. There’s been times when the owner over calculates the number of items you ordered.
