This restaurant dwarfs all Japanese restaurants in Winnipeg! Scrapbook menus are each unique and the food is amazeballs! Not enough exclamation points!!!

I have been to Dwarf no Cachette more than once and cannot stop raving to all my friends about it! The location itself is a quaint little building, the décor inside very comfortable and cute. There is a small gift shop upstairs, which made our brief(~10 minute) wait for a table just fly by! Once we were seated, service was excellent – attentive, prompt and friendly, and everything that we ordered was absolute perfection! The takoyaki was my favourite part, delicious, soft and crispy outside – addicting! I personally ordered the okonomiyaki, which was excellent, sweet and tangy all at once with a fantastic texture, and SO filling. Others at our table ordered udon and yakisoba, and they had nothing but good things to say about their meals as well. Highly recommend the black sesame sundae for dessert! Rich and nutty with just the right amount of sweetness. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Made it in here before stopping off a film festival nearby. Quickly tried some Sushi, and one of the soups over all great service and good food. Sorry came to eat so we did not make the trip upstairs to the gift shop, but it is on the list when we come back again.

Today we decided to go on a food adventure to somewhere we have never been before. i somehow stumbled upon Dwarf on Cachette on the internet and i said«let’s give it a whirl!». The restaurant was very easy to find and there was a lot of parking available on the street. I was immediately impressed when we entered the restaurant. There were 2 staff working in the dining room and we were able to sit wherever we wanted. The décor is so unique in every way. There are little figurines on the window sills and on the walls, though it does not feel crowded at all. When our waitress brought us the menus, they were all hand made and hand written, like no other menu i have ever seen. I was very impressed to say the least. We ordered 4 dishes and a dessert: Crunchy oyster fries, chopped marinated salmon, 2 different sushi rolls and choco banana shaved ice. The oyster fries were very well made. They were crunchy on the outside, and salty on the inside. I would order that dish again in a heartbeat. The shaved ice dessert took me back to when i was in honolulu. It totally melts in your mouth just like the original shaved ice desserts in hawaii! As for the rest of the meal, it was all very average tasting. I was very happy with the service, but if they are going to price their sushi at over $ 9 a roll, I do believe that they will need to step up their game. I do plan to go back one day and try their ramen :)

Friendly staff, adorable set up, and the food is AMAZING. It’s nice to be able to get a proper bowl of ramen, which I am very new to! Lots of unique desserts and a few off menu items as well, so be sure to ask what kind of ice cream selection they have if you order a sundae. The gift shop upstairs is full of little treasures! No complaints here :)

This is the cutest Japanese Restaurant, I’ve been too after staying here in Winnipeg for 3 years! My friends and I had lunch there a few days ago, and I am quite surprised by how fast our food was served to us, and they taste great! There is also a gift shop on the first floor of the restaurant and they sell the cutest items that you won’t be able to buy anywhere in Winnipeg. I suggest you guys to visit this wonderful restaurant and have a great time!
