Samosas were very bland and not made to order. On the plus side you can be in and out in two minutes. Not nearly as good as the ones at Royal Punjab next door.

I recently went here just to kill a few minutes and have a quick snack. Like the other reviews I arrived late in the day and found that the samosa selection was a bit lacking; but with that said they had 2 beef samosa and a&w root beer which was just what I needed. I found that although it wasn’t exploding with flavour, I didn’t really expect it to be. It was exactly what I expected and, to be honest quite good for the price($ 5 for a drink and 2 samosa) I wasn’t expecting fine Bhutanese dining, I was expecting a quick snack that wasn’t to spicy(people tend to equate spicy with flavour) but filled a void I had in my tummy, and for that — these samosa couldn’t have been better. To boot I found the staff to be exceptionally pleasant and willing to serve. Her response to «what time do you guys close?»(it was around 10 to 8) was a pleasant«we’re open right now.» and even though I probably held them up for a whopping $ 5 of sales, they certainly didn’t make me feel bad for doing it as a lot of places will. I would definitely go here again, but I probably wouldn’t bring a date here… Only because women don’t date guys that take them to samosa shops, and I probably would try to bring one to Eat-On Samosa, and she would leave me.

Plain diner with friendly service. The food is mostly bland or very mildly seasoned. I suspect they cater to the nearby high school lunch crowd. They used to have the hottest, tastiest chili in the world; it was dropped from the menu about the same time the other items became milder.

Eat on Samosa is a casual little place tucked in a Fort Richmond strip mall. I arrived here 15 minutes before closing only to discover that the samosas aren’t made to order. They were sitting under a heat lamp in a glass case — kinda like the ones at those take out pizza joints. The samosas are baked so it didn’t have that nice golden brown colour that I am more familiar with. There were only two chicken, one shrimp and about eight bison samosas remaining. I was hesitant to try the samosas because they looked like they have been sitting under that heat lamp all night. But since this place is called«eat on samosa» I shouldn’t leave without trying one. So I bought one chicken and one shrimp samosa along with the spicy curry chicken with vegetables(cauliflower, carrots and potatoes) to go. I’m not a fan of thick pastry shells but this has to be one of the thickest and doughiest samosas I’ve ever eaten. I was expecting the filling to burst with spices but unfortunately, it wasn’t really well seasoned. The flavours were very muted. And yes, the samosa shell was dry and hard and the chicken was dry. Ditto on the shrimp samosa. But not all was disappointing, the spicy curry chicken dish had heat and flavour. The veggies were okay overall but unfortunately, the potatoes were undercooked. You can also get momos — which are dumplings filled with chicken, pork or veg/cheese but they were sold out when I arrived. The samosas are $ 2 each and the chicken and basmati rice combo was $ 7.99. I wanted to like this place but the dry and hard samosas were kinda unforgivable. I’d go there to eat the chicken and rice dish and possibly try a momo but no more samosas for me.
