Fresh and healthy«fast food» is really what this place is about. For anywhere between $ 7-$ 9 before a protein is added, you can get a salad, burrito, wrap or bowl with lots of fresh and healthy ingredients. Proteins are a couple of dollars to add on: tofu, falafel, chicken, steak or tuna. There’s also soups and juices/smoothies and breakfast. The corydon location is the first one in the city for the Winnipeg born and raised owner. It’s located in the old Second Cup location which has a small private lot(but careful as many of the spots are for Nikos customers). There’s not a ton of seating in this place, it’s laid out very similar to the Second Cup though the space is completely updated. You order and pay and wait for the food that is made to order. I’ve been here a few times already but my first visit, it took me a bit to figure out what I wanted as there a lot of choices. I tried the«Mediterranean bowl» with chicken added on — it includes half quinoa and half field greens, red onions, kalamata olives, feta cheese, cucumbers, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, almonds, red pepper sauce. This bowl was extremely filling and I likely didn’t need to add the chicken. It came to $ 12.41 after tax and I thought that it was a very fair price for the portion and quality of ingredients. The red pepper sauce was subtle and delicious and allowed the ingredients to shine through. I also tried the«market salad» no protein add on — field greens and spinach, quinoa, avocado, beet slaw, apples, dried cranberries, carrots, honey dijon dressing which was $ 9.36 after tax. A good overall salad though I would change to another dressing as I personally don’t love honey dijon. Service is friendly and the wait at lunch time is about 5 mins or so. It’s a good place to pick up a healthy meal when you’re too lazy to make this stuff at home.
