Jade Inn

I’m sad I have to give this long time Chinese restaurant only two stars. This place has been a favourite of mine in past years. I am unsure if there has been a change in management, but the standard of quality seems diminished. The chow mein was not looking very appetizing, although flavour was average. The chicken balls are still of great quality however they come smothered in there sauce, making them a little mushy on day two. The egg roll I was given had exploded in the deep fryer leaving it less than desirable. However it should be noted they had the food ready in 15 – 20 mins, which was quite convenient.

The quantity makes up for quality, which is still much better than most. Take out only.
A south Osborne landmark, the Jade Inn offers a large menu and great value. The price of items is reasonable, and the selection is good.

Best deal for hungry guy is combo plate 7a. $ 8.25
Issues :
Don’t expect to be able to pick up at 415 though on a Sunday though. The Combo Plate 7a I wanted ready at 4:30 on a Sunday was quoted to be ready for pickup at 445 on Sunday. This was accurate but if reported open at 4:00 PM you would expect instant food or at least a hot wok /​deep fryer.
Also, you need to ask for a fork if you order.
