I had the Daily Special here yesterday, which was Chicken Stew with sapopillas, for $ 4.25 I believe.
The stew was really nice. Very flavourful with big chunks of chicken, lots of veggies, including zucchini and I think egg blended into the broth.
Sapopillas is a round flat bread with is deep fried to a slightly crispy golden brown. Totally awesome, but then you can’t really go wrong with deep fried bread.
The portion wasn’t huge — the stew was in a (I’m guessing) 12oz bowl, and the sapopillas are maybe 15 cm across, but it was plenty of food for me, and not a bad portion at all for the price.
I’ll be going back to try their other offerings — I was particularly tempted by a pork & avocado sandwich.
