As part of a recent visit to Winnipeg, I caught my first Goldeyes game and had a good time. The Goldeyes are a part of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball which means that they are not affiliated with MLB. I thought this was an interesting fact because I never pictured any independent league surviving without and MLB connection. I though it was neat that baseball could produce an independent product. We paid $ 8 for our tickets and our seats were in section C near the left field wall. You could clearly see the whole field from out seats. We were also near the warm up mound for pitchers which was kind of neat to see. As a product, it was ok. I enjoyed myself and had fun. It was something different for me to do on a Saturday evening but I don’t think I would be a regular. I could watch maybe 3 or 4 games a year just to hangout with friends somewhere different. There are a lot of families here so if you have a kid who you can enjoy baseball with you might become a fan of the Goldeyes. Fun experience!
