I had no idea there were stores just dedicated to frozen food — this blew my mind (but in a very good way)!
As you pass by Aromas de Mar y Tierra, you can’t help but notice them as their entrance is fun, colorful and hipster-​like. When I first saw them I thought it was a new ice cream place with the flags in the window and colorful painting on the wall. However, to my surprise, it was everything frozen but ice cream!
Aromas de Mar y Tierra, just like their name, only have the best of what Chile has to offer: items from the sea & fruits/​veggies (they also offer frozen dough to make empanadas, pizzas as well as pre-​made pizzas, empanadas and sopaipillas).
Although they don’t have a large list to choose from, Aromas de Mar y Tierra offer a good enough selection to get the quality fish or produce you need without having to go to mercado central (plus you cook what you need and leave the rest in the freezer for later).
Tip:
This time of the year berries are hard to come by — and if you do find them they are expensive. Aromas de Mar has blueberries for 3.500 the kilo and strawberries at 2.500 the kilo!
